5 out of 5 starsDue to shipping delays I wasn't able to use this mask for the procedure I'd intended. BUT when I checked on shipping, she sent me a replacement at no cost. It was more than I could have expected and I really appreciated it!!

About speakeasy
-
My sewing studio is in the attic of my late-Victorian home in Buffalo, NY.
My business started at an estate sale at an old Victorian mansion. The woman who had lived there was an artist and master screen printer. Clearly, no one quite knew what to do with all the textiles she had printed, because they were just stuffed in a box in the basement. I've been sewing since I was five years old, so I took one look and decided I'd be the one to save those pieces of fabric. That day, I made my first purse! It was a hit on social media and soon friends were asking if I could make purses for them, too.
While I studied history and art history in college, my career has been in graphic design, photography, and writing—and it has been exciting to combine all of those loves into my textile products. I've also picked up a few new skills along the way, like screen printing and block printing, to help me fully customize pieces for every customer. My designs have also expanded quite a lot beyond purses!
I'm a happy urban-dweller with a 1907 house that holds me, my husband, two cats and our respective studios (his: woodworking and music, mine: sewing and printing).
In addition to my personal sewing, I work part time at Stitch Buffalo—a refugee women's sewing center in Buffalo, NY. As part of my work there, I operate their Etsy store (StitchBuffaloShop).

For some of my custom textiles, I work with a digital printer to output yard goods. These are are then sewn by me into final products. Digital printing allows me to offer unique products and avoid waste by creating only as many materials as I need.
