In 1984, we began this business as a freelance business from the garage of our home in San Francisco, California.
Today, it has grown into the fullfillment of a life long dream of making beautiful, unique yarns and knitting wonderful things made from those and other quality yarns. A passion for knitting combined with an appreciation of fine handspun fibers are what Spin2Knit is all about!

For more than 32 years, we have been professionally making clothing and knitwear. Our repetoire includes design, alterations, patternmaking, samplemaking, and manufacturing. We have also had the pleasure (and pain) of raising and processing the fibers from our own spinning flock of many varieties of sheep and Angora goats for more than 10 years.

Payment
We accept PayPal, and Etsy's direct checkout. You can use credit and debit cards with either, even if you don't have an account.

Please pay within 3 days of the sale or contact me within that timeframe for special arrangements. Otherwise, we will cancel the sale and relist the item.
If you are a California state resident, you will be charged the current sales tax.
Shipping
We try to ship within 1-3 days for readymade items whenever possible. Custom Items will be shipped via arrangement with the buyer. Please send us a message to confirm length of time to complete the item and shipping time BEFORE purchasing on all CUSTOM ORDERS. Be considerate that all these custom items are made by hand and take many hours to create.

Shipping will be to the address you have listed on Etsy or PayPal, please be sure that address is correct. If you need your item sooner than that, please Contact Us to make further arrangements.

We prefer to ship USPS Priority mail. It is faster and literally the same price as other methods. We have also found that items usually arrive just as fast as the other faster, more expensive options. For international orders, please contact me for postage information. I will combine items if you make multiple purchases.

We send all shipments with delivery confirmation. Insurance is available by special request. Contact us and we will send you a revised invoice. Though we make every effort to be sure that your items get to you as quickly and safely as possible, we are not responsible for lost, damaged in shipping, or delayed items.

Any duties, taxes, tariffs or fees for packages shipped internationally are your responsibility. We are not able to estimate what any of these charges to you might be. If you are concerned about duties, please check with your local authorities before you order. It is required by law that the customs form I fill out accurately state the value of the goods you have purchased.

International buyers, please add your phone number as a note to your order, as it is required for US customs declarations.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not pleased with your purchase for some reason, please let us know immediately. We want you to be happy with your transaction and hope that we can come up with an acceptable solution. Refunds will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If a refund is required, we will refund you if the item is returned within 10 days of your receipt and if the item is in original condition. Shipping costs will not be refunded.
All Custom Orders are Final. No refunds on custom orders.

Washing wool garments:

Here is our preferred method to wash wool. This is how I have washed fleeces (and yarn) for years---and it works wonderfully for garments, too. It gets everything clean and won’t harm the wool. Remember: DO NOT AGITATE.

1. Fill a large sink or tub with HOT water. Squeeze a tiny dab of Dawn Blue dish soap into the water. Do not agitate to sudsing.
2. GENTLY lay the garment in the hot water and gently press it down into the water. Do NOT AGITATE. Let sit and soak for a whir or until the water starts to cool.
3. Scoop the garment towards you and press gently against the front of the sink. Lift without stretching any parts of the garment. Drain the water.
4. To rinse: Fill sink with water about the same temperature as your drained washing water and GENTLY lay the garment in again. Leave it alone. DO NOT AGITATE!
5. Repeat again if rinse water does not run clear. Add a little bit of fabric softener or hair conditioner to the last rinse for extra softness.
6. Lay the garment flat on a thick towel, roll and press. Do NOT wring. (You can stand on it, just don’t twist).
7. Move it to a second towel if it is a big, heavy item. Roll and press. It will be almost dry to the touch.
8. Take a dry towel and lay garment out flat to dry.

Superwash is more resistant to felting and shrinking, but it, too, will benefit from this treatment. Your Superwash garment will be less likely to stretch and distort.

Some yarns and fabrics may run a bit when washed. Small amounts of color residue will not affect the intensity of the yarn’s color. You should wash dyed handspun separately from other garments or with like colors. A splash of white vinegar in the rinse may help with the dye running.
