Announcement
Stay near home, stay safe. Resist close socializing. Get vaccinated. We’ve been walking in our NYS parks way more than usual. I’ve also decided to use some of this home time to work on WIPs. But soon, I know, I’ll succumb to starting something new.
We can, sadly, no longer be responsible for packages not arriving in a timely manner. We send them out quickly enough but the PO seems to place some of them in limbo. If your package gets hung up somewhere please report it to the USPS through their website. Or call your nearest PO.
Please check back if you don’t see something you want. Also, Jim is very amenable to special order spindles.
Get involved. Knit or spin for a charity or the homeless.
Quality in Your Hands. Quality is what we strive for, whether in our hand dyes, spindles, batts or kits. We know that when you start with quality and then add your amazing crafting, the results will be outstanding.
We are on a rotating charity giving roll. Right now we are donating to Charities helping the animals displaced by the tornados, hurricanes and fires.

Have fun choosing among our selection of uniquely hand dyed fiber and yarns, hand spun yarns and kits, hand turned spindles, folding stools and original patterns. We choose the softest and best yarns and fibers available, dye them gently in small pots, rinse them well and offer them to you. All of our colors were created from playing in my garden or the woods or otherwise inspired by nature.
Please look around, eye fondle and get your fix by choosing whatever you'd like to have us send you (or a giftee). Our hope is that these joyful colors and creations will keep you going on your projects all the way to the very end.
Jim is inspired by the wood he holds. He lets the wood tell him what it would like to be fashioned into. Each and every spindle, stool, base and wooden accessory is carefully considered and individually hand turned and crafted.

4 out of 5 starsI can use the belt material but I was looking for a thicker material - about 1/4". No problem. My wheel needs a new belt .

5 out of 5 starsThis was a worth a try purchase without huge expectations but I am soooo happy. I have 2 wheels, the string drive band I had on my Lendrum Saxony was actually a little longer than this one but since the band is supposed to be shorter than that length it was still plenty. My Kromski Minstrel tended to be a bit picky about band tension vs. take up (brake tension) but now it’s not! I assume these bands will last longer than string but I don’t even care, also easy to change whorl size. Thank you!!

5 out of 5 starsI use these on my Ashford Traveller wheel and love them. Dealing with twine drive belts was a mess but these are great. The instructions are clear and simple and the seller was great about letting me know they would work with my wheel. I got a lavender and a blue sparkly. The blue sparkly is a little stiffer but they both work great!

5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely positively love the spindle. The wood turning really shows off the grain of the wood. The “spin” and the weight is absolutely perfect I highly recommend getting the batt as it’s a nice demo of the spinning capabilities. Super nice seller it’s always a plus.

Shop policies
Jim looks at a piece of raw wood and imagines its potential. He then, literally, turns it into spindles. Of course, sometimes the wood wants to be a stool, so it gets to be a stool.
We also are very happy to take requests for fiber, yarn, spindles or stools. Just contact us and we can talk about your vision.
Please look around, eye fondle and get your fix by choosing whatever you'd like to have me send you (or a giftee). My hope is that these joyful colors and creations will keep you going on your projects all the way to completion.
