About

Life is Art... The evolving process and "Nature" of the self... How The Spiral Stone Came To Be

I've always been deeply in touch with nature. Through my teens I escaped to the woods for peace and security. In the quiet, expansive forest with its towering trees climbing the blue skies, I could breathe the moment. I could feel my lungs swell with fresh air, and plant my feet back on the solid, lush ground. That solid ground, a whole other world to behold. The plump green moss and tiny fungi in array of color and shape was a wonderland of exploration. I would use my macro camera lens to zoom into moss clumps at microscopic levels where then each moss frawn looks like a fancy umbrella fit for a woodland fairy. I'd think to myself, "how cool would it be if I could shrink that small?!!"...like that old movie, Honey I Shrunk The Kids.

Anyway>>>>>> Nature is the foundation of our existence and it is such an inspiration to not only my creative process but my internal and spiritual growth. I mean nature itself is IN me... I AM nature...YOU ARE nature and WE are a direct result of our environment and how we treat it and respond to it. Sooooo we must care for it. Recognize it. And Sustain it.

Our wellness, our survival, and the evolution of our inner selves depends on it... just as nature evolves, so do we ...

As an artist and intuitive, I always knew that my life needed to share something with others that could inspire a sense of wellness. Whether it be a deep soulful connection inspiring a healing place within, or simple joys of visual pleasures, I knew my work needed to resonate with the our Earth in not only our survival and dependency of it but also our inner, spiritual self growth inspired by it.

So how did my art brand The Spiral Stone of Cape Cod come to be????

Back in 2007 while running my own seasonal gallery I was hosting a variety of local, eccentric Cape artists (not those lighthouse Cape Cod scenic type pf artists but those real life, emotional, original inspired geniuses creating things that have never been seen before type of artists!) While working at my desk I was playing (because playing is working when you're an artist) with a bunch of wire and beach stone at my desk. After much trial and error I created the first Spiral Stone necklace made from Sandy Neck beach stone. As I held it in my hand I asked for spiritual guidance..."What was this creation?!," I thought... there was something about it as I held the stone in my hand...suddenly the words began to flow and the healing Spiral Stone story emerged. From that point on the original, black steel wire Spiral Stone necklace was born. To this day all Spiral Stone Necklaces come with this healing story.

Not only was that day the beginning of my art brand The Spiral Stone of Cape Cod, but it was also a deeper soulful connection to my natural intuitive abilities. I began to trust this connection more than I ever had and slowly integrated healing intuitive energies into my artwork and its overall message.

I now not only create artwork with healing intentions but I also teach my own Therapeutic & Expressive Arts program on the Cape called "Inside Art." I specialize in teaching adults living with disabilities but work with many different populations and abilities. I have worked with preschoolers to teens up to the elderly and provide art services to assisted living centers as well as residential programs servicing those living with dementia and Alzheimers.

Expanding on my work providing art services to people with disabilities, I am also the Art Director for a non-profit, The Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network (CapeCodCAN) that offers grant funded opportunities in the literary, visual and performing arts to people living with disabilities on Cape Cod.

I am also a certified Reiki Practitioner and combine my intuitive healing abilities and visualizations into my work.

The way I see it is life is an evolving process...
We are only here on this Earth for a blink of an eye, like a spec of dust floating in a vast universe... If I can help make a positive difference in people's lives while I'm here then I have done something meaningful that hopefully makes positive ripples through the many lives I may impact. So just as life evolves, so does my work.

If you've read this far, then you are AMAAAAZZZING!!!! Thank you for your interest and continued support. Without you my mission could not reach its purpose.
