Turning My Creative Outlet into a Business

Hi there! My name is Danielle and I’m the owner of Spirit and Shine. I’ve always been the kind of person who loves to create new and fun things, but I struggled to balance that need for creativity with my corporate career.

I began creating fun mugs and gifts for friends and family in my spare time and I soon realized that I could only gift the same people so many mugs :). And so Spirit and Shine was born.

Since opening Spirit and Shine, I have created and planned decor for weddings, baby showers, and bridal showers. I love to see the things I create become a part of such a special day.

Each product is personally designed and made by yours truly. I’m always open to making others’ visions come to life, so custom orders are always welcome.

How do I wash and care for my personalized mugs/glassware/tumblers?

All customized items are designed using a commercial-grade permanent adhesive vinyl. To care for your items, please hand-wash only. Do not directly scrape or scrub the design, and avoid microwaving, soaking, or putting in the dishwasher to ensure that you get plenty of use out of your item!

Can I request a custom order?

Custom Orders are currently closed for 2021. Please feel free to shop the products currently displayed in the shop. Custom orders will open back up in 2022!

Do you accept returns and exchanges?

Due to the customizable nature of our products, we are unable to offer any returns or exchanges. If your product arrives damaged, please contact me within 24 hours of receiving your product so we can work through a solution.

What kind of things can I apply vinyl decals to?

The great thing about permanent adhesive vinyl is that it's so versatile! It sticks well to all clean, hard surfaces.

Some examples are: glass (mugs, glassware, spice jars, windows), ceramic (mugs, flower pots), aluminum (tumblers, water bottles), wood (signs), plastic (containers, drawers), and a lot more (laptops, cellphone cases).

An important thing to note is that this adhesive vinyl is permanent, so it will permanently be stuck on the items you apply it to. For mugs, glasses, and other items that need to withstand frequent washing, please follow the care instructions provided to ensure that your decal is long-lasting!

How do I apply my vinyl decal?

Application instructions are included in each product description and will also be included in your order.

Do you offer a discount on multiple items?

Yes! If you are purchasing 2 or more items from my shop, please use discount code 'BUNDLE15' for 15% off of your order. Please keep in mind that this discount cannot be combined with sale pricing and that only one discount code can be applied per order.

Please also note that bundle deals only apply to items shipping to the same location.

Do you offer local pick-up?

Yes, local pick-up is a great way to get your order even quicker! If you are local to Burlington, Ontario you can use discount code 'PICKUP15' for 15% off your order and to let me know that you would like to pick-up. I will then reach out to you to schedule a pick-up time based on when your order is ready. Please keep in mind that if you use this discount code, your order will not be shipped

I need my order by a specific date - will it get to me in time?

I can never 100% guarantee shipping times, as they are completely dependent on Canada Post/USPS and where you are ordering from.

If you would like your product by a specific date, please message me prior to ordering and I will work with you to come up with the best possible solution to get it to you in time.

All products have a standard processing time of 2-5 business days. I aim to get them out sooner than that, and after that, shipping times are completely dependent upon Canada Post/USPS.

My order is taking a long time to get to me, what can be done about this?

Shipping delays can be frustrating because it's something that neither buyer or seller have any control over. Shipping times are completely dependent on Canada Post/USPS.

If your order came with a tracking number, I would recommend tracking it online and signing up for notifications so you can see when it moves.

If your order didn't come with a tracking number (i.e. vinyl decals, wine bags, base US shipping) then it unfortunately can't be tracked by myself or even the post office.

If you have any questions, I am more than happy to answer and help to the best of my abilities. But please keep in mind that once your order has been shipped, there is nothing I can do to make it arrive any sooner.
