    5 out of 5 stars

This little sweetie is even more beautiful in person! The textured lines keeps it simplistic, but with gorgeous detail. It’s the perfect size for tea bags, rings, or little trinkets!

A simple life making pots...

I began making pots when I was eight years old and knew then that I would be a potter one day. It has been twenty years now since I began to make pots again and I am forever grateful to be reunited with the clay I love.

Working on a treadle style potter's wheel or using handbuilding techniques I make simple pots intended for daily use with natural, organic surfaces. I am an identical twin and I never make two pots alike. Ever. Textural qualities are very important in my work and most of the tools I use are found objects or items collected in nature. Anything old and rusty catches my attention.

My studio is located on Wonderland Tree Farm, a twenty acre wooded wonderland in Afton, Minnesota. Surrounded by an abundance of nature and wildlife brings a subtle and nuanced sense of calm to my work. Being able to look out of my studio window and see a hawk sitting in a tree or watch the deer meander by helps me remain grounded and connected with the earth. I also have a small flock of chickens who give me much joy as well as fresh, organic eggs. It doesn't get much better!

My pots are also available at my home studio sales, in galleries and at other invitational events. For more information about my upcoming events please visit my website www.spiritworkspottery.com.

I create pottery for everyday use and embrace simplicity in each piece. My work is inspired by artifacts from primitive cultures and by the Japanese folk tradition of Mingei, which honors the simple beauty in everyday objects made for daily use.
