Announcement   Rag quilts from Squared Up are lovingly made in my home from designer samples and remnants. No bolts of fabric are ever harmed in the making of these one-of-a-kind creations.

It's a fun process to find some adorable or classy or kitschy or just plain gorgeous fabric and then patiently wait until its perfect partners show up. Really cool designer samples, leftover fabric from my neighbor, some jeans that had the nerve to shrink, a never used remnant relegated to the thrift store - as long as it's either cute or beautiful (or both) it has a new forever home.

Every quilt is different, every quilt is impossible to reproduce. Come join my quilting adventures.

Love this shop and ADORE this quilt!! It's a wonderful, whimsical quilt and it seems like there's something new to see each time I look at it! This is the 4th quilt I've bought from Jessica, 3 were gifts, but this one is mine!! Quick shipment too.

These little guys were a hit at my sister's coworker's baby shower. I got an order for another set!

About

If you wear cotton to my home, you just might end up in one of my quilts!

My quilting story started with a trip to Wisconsin to visit a friend. She had the cutest and coziest quilts in her living room. She said that before I left, she'd teach me how to make a rag quilt. Sure enough, I boarded the plane home with my soft and adorable rag quilt safely tucked into my carry on luggage. I got home and set out to make another one. Then I made one for my mom. And my friend, Then another friend.

My first sale on Etsy was celebrated with a joyful dance around the house. Even now, I get extremely tickled when I sell a quilt either on Etsy or privately. I take pride in the fact that my fabric is all upcycled - never used fabric from the thrift store, gently used clothing items and leftovers from the fabric stashes of friends and coworkers. My quilts are eco-green and impossible to recreate. That's why they are forgiven for making my house look like a textile factory at times. Contact me if you have a theme in mind or if you would like a custom memory quilt. Together we can square up the plans for your one-of-a-kind quilt!

If you told me a few years ago I'd have a sewing table and a large cabinet filled with fabric in the guest room, I'd say you were in the wrong house. Me? Making quilts? But now I say there's a guest bed in my sewing room and I'm glad it fits in with the large cabinet full of fabric! Along with making fuzz all over the house, I'm learning Romanian, cooking and eating vegan and trying to pretend that gardening and throwing the ball to the dog is exercise.

What is my philosophy? If it's cotton, I'll use it. But I won't buy it off a bolt and I don't purchase fat quarters. These are really and truly eco-friendly items that have been upcycled and recycled, but never at the expense of looks.

I have been known to wait and wait for the perfect fabric to complete a certain quilt, and then exclaim HERE IT IS at a garage sale or thrift store. Some of my favorite fabrics have come from curtains, Scarlett O'hara style. These are quilts that you can really feel good about - they have all been saved from the scrapheap of forgotten fabric.

Shipping
Quilts are shipped the business day of or day after your order. I do appreciate a little note when my (now your) quilt arrives - I worry about them while in transit!
Refunds and Exchanges
There was one quilt that was lost in the mail - so sad. I sent the buyer a similar quilt.
