stacypolsonsart's Shop Announcement

One day I began to wonder how the art of 17th century Japanese woodcuts would look appliquéd in felt because I loved the simple but elegant faces and thought the colorful kimonos would be so much fun to redesign. As I went in search of yarn that might be incorporated into my work, I discovered, tucked away in the nook of my local yarn store, a few items labeled, “Needle-felting”. Intrigued, I purchased a few things, took them home, and was instantly hooked. For those of you who don’t already know, needle-felting is the process of adhering fiber to fiber using a barbed needle, and practically anything that can be found in a yarn store, spun or raw can be used. Well, needless to say, this opened up a huge range of possibilities for me and I was ecstatic. I went on to create a series based on the Japanese woodcuts and ultimately it formed the process for everything that followed.

PS: I now have two shops. Here at "Stacy Polson's Needle Felt Art" I'll be featuring 8.5 x 11 inch prints of my needle-felted paintings ( 11 x 14 inch prints are available by request). At my other shop, "Stacy Polson's Far Fetched Felted Figurines" I'm featuring just my needle-felted figurines. You can also visit my website at www.stacypolson.com to view much more of my present and past work. Thanks for visiting!
