About

My Hands Have a Hard Time Staying Still

I have an almost constant need to create. As one friend put it when we were watching TV and I was digging about in my yarn basket for a knitting project, "Good God, woman! Can't you ever be idle?!" That exclamation pretty much sums up my life. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

~I need something made from a specific date. Can you do that?
*Sure! Let me know and I'll look for issue with the month/year's issue you need. I am always expanding my inventory of in-stock issues and I can search for ones I don't already have. When I find it, we'll work together to find you the right color, shape, and size.

~Is your origami perfect in every way?
*Heck, no! Although I take a lot of pride in my work, these are handmade, tiny little paper sculptures made with no tools but my own hands. I do have a high standard, though, and my "rejects" get thrown into glass jars as decorative reminders of my dedication. There are also limits associated with vintage magazine paper. White "fold lines" occasionally appear in my work, though the effect is greatly reduced after sealing. I try to accurately represent my work through my photos, but if you have any concerns, please let me know! I want you to be happy with your unique piece of wearable history!

~What do you use to seal your origami items?
*In most cases, I use clear nail polish free of toluene, formaldehyde, and DBPs. I find this to be mush less toxic than other sealants.

~Where do you get the yarn/felt for your Fiber Arts Collection?
*These materials come from various sources, including leftover yarn scraps, recycled yarn, and bits of wool left over from spinning.

~You mentioned you knit. Do you have a yarn store?
*Why, yes! My yarn store is Skein Deep Yarn and it is on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SkeinDeepYarn
