Through the Stained Glass Looking Glass

It all started with taking a stained glass class many moons ago. I was enthralled with how light played through the glass in different ways, and my love for the art has only grown over the years.

I hand craft all of my pieces in my home studio in Reisterstown Maryland (near Baltimore and Washington DC). This is my passion and full time gig--not a hobby. I have been working with glass for over 20 years, and it never gets old. There is always something new to learn or improve upon, and new types of glass and glass products to try. I love to create pieces in all different styles, from modern to traditional, realistic to whimsical, and everything in between! Growing up and living in Maryland, also known as "America in Miniature", I am influenced by the many different cultures, all sizes of cities and small towns, and various land and water terrains within it.

All of my pieces are made with high quality glass and materials, and shipped quickly. Each piece I create has a special meaning to me, and hopefully they will find a special place in the hearts of those who buy them too!

My full line of over 200 pieces (including those shown here on Etsy) can be seen and purchased directly on my website at stainedglassyourway.com. Custom requests are welcome and can be initiated through my website contact page.

Frequently asked questions
Custom Orders

I am happy to custom create a unique stained glass or fused glass piece for you, or modify an existing design to meet your needs! I do all custom orders directly through my website at stainedglassyourway.com, so please contact me through my site to discuss the details of your custom request. I encourage you to review the blog article on my website about creating custom pieces for tips on the various things to consider when creating a custom piece. You can also view other custom pieces I have done in the gallery section on my website.

Care instructions

Naturally, all glass items should be handled with care to prevent breakage!

Hanging Tips: Rectangular panels should be hung from TWO separate chains or wires so that they are vertical to the piece. This will prevent the frame from warping over time.

Suction cup hangers should only be used for pieces weighing less than two pounds. Clean window well before adhering suction cup. Wipe a VERY thin film of cooking oil on inside of cup for better adhesion. Check cup bond periodically.

It is normal for the solder and framing to dull/tarnish over time. You can choose to let it age naturally, or you can clean/polish it with a stained glass polish. Car wax works well too.

Clean the glass with a soft dry cloth if smudged or dirty.

Gift Messages

I am happy to enclose a personalized note with your order if it is a gift being shipped directly to the giftee! Just include the message you would like in the notes of your order.

Made to Order Items

Please note that because no two pieces of glass are exactly alike, made to order pieces may have slight variations from the ones pictured.

Colors and Shades

Part of the beauty of stained glass is how it takes on different appearances in different lighting and angles. This can also make it challenging to photograph. I make every effort to portray accurate colors in the photos on each listing. However, due to the inherent nature of stained glass, as well as the variations inherent in different computer monitors, actual colors may appear slightly different in your home than what is shown in my shop photos. I do believe you will find that each item will actually look BETTER in person than in the photos! (At least that's what my customers have told me!)

Additional Shipping Info

I ship all items in very well-padded packaging, as I want to be sure they arrive safely! Most items are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance. Jewelry is shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail with tracking.

I use recycled boxes when possible to help keep costs down as well as help the environment.

In the rare event that your item arrives damaged, I require that you please notify me via Etsy message within 5 calendar days of receipt (as indicated by USPS tracking) and include photos of the damaged piece and packaging. Please keep all original packaging as you will need to bring it in with the damaged item to the post office for inspection for insurance claim processing before I can refund or replace it.
