From trying a new craft whilst on maternity leave to 'accidentally' creating a successful little business standing up in the big wide world!

Most people view maternity leave as a time for recuperation and snuggles with a sweet smelling newborn (and maybe plan to do a bit of baking in between naps too), but not Sally .... an idea had been twitching around inside her head for a while now, however it involved striking a heavy hammer and an increase in workload and carrying the baby bump around was proving hard work in itself, so plans got pushed to one side.

When the opportunity arose in April 2014, I started to experiment with my new love of metal stamping. Friends became my first customers, which with the help of a fast growing Facebook page grew quickly to a large customer base. Before we could blink, we were swept along with a vast amount of orders, seeing our first Christmas come and go and loved every second of it. In January 2015, our small business turned a corner when a photograph of our popular 'You're a knobhead, but You're my Knobhead' keyring went viral. The photograph reached Spain and Australia within a day and within 5 days, we were forced to shut down our website for 2 weeks to fulfil the array of orders, subcontract work out to other stampers and welcomed a huge 4000 new fans to our Facebook page .... in 5 days! Since then, we have seen growth at a speed we have struggled to keep up with. Our main platform remains Facebook and our website, which we are continuously working on, but its simple ... WE LOVE ETSY AND WANT TO BE A PART OF IT! So towards the latter part of 2015, we have made an early new years resolution to build our Etsy Shop into the success that our website and Facebook page have become and we sincerely hope that you will join us along the way.

Stamping Street are a family run business, a husband and wife partnership and with three children, two jobs and the business between them, life can be very hectic at times but with a passion for what you do, drive and determination, we are proving that anything is possible as we continue to grow and glow with pride at what we continue to achieve.

Returns and exchange details
Non-personalised items may be returned to us within 14 days of receipt. The item must be returned in its original condition, unworn and in its original packaging to prevent damage in the post. Please contact us to discuss your return whereby we will provide the information required. Your refund will be processed within 2 working days of us receiving the item back. A Returns Form is available upon request.

You, the buyer, will be responsible for postage costs both ways unless your item is faulty. For clarity, if you return an item because you have changed your mind, no longer have a need for the item, it is not what you expected or for any other reason other than it is faulty, you will be refunded the cost of the item minus the postage costs.

If your item is faulty, your postage costs we will be refunded to you, in addition to the cost of your item.

Personalised items may not be returned.

We urge you to return your item using a secure method of postage and obtain proof of posting with insurance. We will not be held responsible for returns that do not arrive and you, the buyer, will be responsible for claiming for any loss via Royal Mail or the company you instruct to return your order to us.

We will not refund or exchange item owing to damage from improper use, general wear and tear or age.

In the event that we, Stamping Street, make an error or your item is faulty, we will offer to repair your item, a replacement or a refund and will work closely with you to ensure your satisfaction. Customer service is of paramount importance to us.

CANCELLATIONS
You do not have the right to cancel if your goods are made to the customers specifications or are personalised. You may not cancel your order if we have commenced work on your order therefore we urge you to contact us as soon as possible should you wish to cancel your order and in any event, within 24 hours and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request.

We reserve the right to refuse to cancel your order and refuse to refund partial or full payment if work has commenced on your order.

Non-personalised items are subject to a 14 day cooling off period and may be returned for a full refund within this time period.

We can refuse to accept any order if the item you have ordered or parts required to complete your order, are no longer available, or for any reason, without disclosure of the reason.

It is the responsibility of you, the customer, to ensure that you provide us with the correct wording and spelling for personalised items. Once your item has been made, it cannot be rectified without additional costs being incurred. We hold no responsibility if you do not provide us with accurate information. We will stamp exactly as you ask, typos and all!

Stamping Street will not be held responsible for any allergies caused by the materials used in their products, for example, some of our products may contain nickel. Each product description will include a list of the metal used. If in any doubt, please contact us to query. It is you, the customers, responsibility to ensure safe and appropriate wear.

We reserve the right to refuse to stamp items with wording deemed to be obscene, threatening or offensive and we reserve the right to refuse to accept any order that we deem to fall into this category.

We have a flat rate postage cost. Therefore, pay a fixed rate for the first item and all additional items are posted for free. All orders are sent using either a tracked or signed for method.

A tracking reference number is provided within your dispatch email. Please note that UK 1st class signed for post is not a fully tracked service, it is a signed for service. For full tracking, please upgrade your postal method to UK Special Delivery.

OVERSEAS
We will ship overseas however this might be by special request only. Please contact us for a custom listing. Full T&C's apply. Delivery partners are used once your order leaves the UK and delivery partners are responsible for updating tracking information. On occasion and dependent on location, we may not have access to tracking information once your parcel has left the United Kingdom. Postage costs are dependent on your location and requirements up to £10.00. We offer international tracked and/or signed for service only. Please note that your order may be delayed at customs and may be subject to a customs fee which is your own responsibility. International delivery is estimated between 5-7 working days after posting however once your parcel arrives to its overseas destination, it is the responsibility of the overseas delivery service to update the tracking information. We cannot be held responsible for delays in delivery. We can only promise to dispatch within a certain time-frame. All orders are sent using a tracked and/or signed for service and will not be deemed as lost or late until 25 business days have passed since the date it was shipped.

POSTAL UPGRADES (UK)
Please note that Special Delivery is a postal method only. Your item still has to made before it can be posted. We are not guaranteeing to deliver your item next day. You are paying for a service offered by Royal Mail who will deliver next day, track and insure your order if you choose this method.

DAMAGE OR LOSS
We cannot be held responsible for items that are lost or damaged in the post. UK signed for delivery is not a tracked service. We are able to confirm that the item has been delivered and signed for and view the signature of the person who took receipt. We cannot track your item before it reaches its destination. If you require a tracked service please select Special Next Day Delivery (UK) . We strongly recommend this option for any orders exceeding £20 in value.

We cannot be held responsible for items that are delayed in the post. 1st Class Signed For Delivery postage is not a guaranteed next day service. If a delivery attempt was made, and you fail to re-arrange delivery or collect your item, your order will be returned to us. Please note that your order still has to be handmade before it is shipped and our usual turnaround time is 10 days, therefore it is your responsibility to ensure you have ordered in time for the date you require delivery.

Additional policies and FAQs
All items are handmade and therefore will vary slightly from the photographs shown. Our wording is stamped by hand and therefore by its very nature and appeal, will have its imperfections and irregularities and no two items will be the same. Many of the metal shapes we use are cut or moulded by hand which can lead to slight variations between products which is to be expected and not considered a flaw. All sizes are approximate for this reason.

As each letter is hammered into the metal by hand, it creates a much deeper impression than engraving which means that your wording will last longer, however it also means that the metal is displaced (pushed to one side) rather than being removed (etched out). This can create a slight mark on the reverse of the metal and for this reason, we do not generally stamp on both sides of the metal as it effects the quality (some exclusions apply such as bottle openers)

We endeavour to use the highest quality materials that are available to us and the images shown use the exact materials that will be supplied to you.

For anything else please contact us. All of the images on our website, selling platforms and social media accounts are the property of Stamping Street. Genuine items that have been made by Stamping Street and photographed as such for the sole use of Stamping Street. As is any written content. Any misuse of images or content owned by Stamping Street will be taken seriously.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR NON-UK BUYERS

Non-UK buyers please note that all transactions made through Stamping Street's Etsy store shall be governed by and construed in accordance with UK law. The courts of the UK will have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate any dispute arising under or in connection with any transactions.

CARING FOR YOUR ITEM
Avoid getting your item wet as this could encourage tarnishing and encourage the 'ink' to fade. Avoid getting hairspray or perfume on your item and do not wear in the bath, shower, swimming, sauna, hot tub or steam room. Certain metals can dull over time and we would recommend cleaning with mild soap and water and buffing with a soft cloth to shine. Products such as Everbrite will clean and protect metal. Mild household abrasives such as toothpaste are also commonly used to clean jewellery.

If over time, your item does dull, lose its shine or your wording fades, you may send it to us whereby we will endeavour to polish and re-ink your wording. We do not guarantee that your item will look 'new' but will endeavour to achieve best results. You, the customer, will be responsible for postage both ways however our maintenance service is free of charge and is applicable for the life of your jewellery and whilst Stamping Street continue to trade. If you request for parts to be replaced or your jewellery to be amended or added to, additional costs will apply.

We do not recommend or suggest that you purchase our items for children. It is your responsibilty to assess the age of the child that the item is intended for. Our products are certainly not suitable for children under the age of three.

Whilst maximum care is taken to minimise sharp edges, our items are made of metal and we will not be held responsible for injury caused by misuse or without due care or attention.

It is common for hand stamping to leave a slight impression or mark on the reverse of the metal. Each individual letter is hammered by hand to leave an indentation in which ink is inserted. The excess metal is therefore forced outwards. For this reason, we cannot stamp on both sides of the metal as it will distort the lettering and weaken the metal itself. This imperfection is considered part of the appeal of buying handmade and is certainly not to be considered a flaw. Please do not confuse hand stamping with engraving which merely scratches the surface and is mostly achieved by machinary creating a precise and different finish on often mass produced items.

Scratching. Slight scratching can occur on some of the soft metals we use such as aluminium. Soft metals are vital so that as humans, we can apply sufficient pressure to make a deep enough impression by hand. The metal goes through certain processes after stamping to harden however please still expect a minimal amount of surface scratching.

ALUMINIUM (IF USED) IS A LIGHTWEIGHT METAL. WE USE 1.2MM - 1.5MM THICKNESS ALUMINIUM WHEREVER POSSIBLE AND SOURCE QUALITY MATERIALS. THE METALS USED FOR HAND STAMPING NEED TO BE OF SOFT NATURE TO ALLOW US AS HUMANS, THE ABILITY TO CREATE AN IMPRESSION BY HAND. THE METAL UNDERGOES PROCESSES AFTER STAMPING, TO HARDEN, HOWEVER THE METALS WE USE ARE SOFT AND LIGHTWEIGHT BY NATURE. WE DO NOT STAMP ON BOTH SIDES OF THE METAL AS IT EFFECTS THE QUALITY OF THE ITEM.

PRIVACY AND PHOTOGRAPHS
Photographs of completed orders are often posted on our Facebook page and used for advertising. Please advise at the time of ordering if you do not wish your item to be displayed publicly. We will not use your full name or tag you in such photographs. If you request 'names' and 'dates of birth' to be stamped onto your items, this data in the form of your finished item, could be published unless agreed otherwise. If you place an order, it is on the understanding that you have read, understood and accepted this and are aware that it is your responsibilty to notify us if you do not wish your item to be used.

We will not share your personal data with any third party.

SERVICE ACCESS
We endeavour to ensure that all details on our website and social media outlets are accurate and up to date however we do not guarantee this and reserve the right to refuse your order if the item you have ordered or parts of, are no longer available.

Information We Collect and How We Store It

• We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use and share your information which is necessary to fulfil your order or query, and thus provide our services. We collect information such as your name, gender, email address, telephone number, postal address, payment information, photographs and the details of the product that you wish to order.
• We need to collect your personal information to provide our services, such as fulfilling your order, to settle a dispute or provide customer support.

Can you stamp on both sides of the metal?

No. Unfortunately stamping on both sides of the metal effects the quality however we can usually offer an alternative such as adding additional discs to your item to achieve more text or personalisation
