A wonderful, whimsical illustration. I gave it to my animal-loving hairdresser friend along with a greeting to have a "Hairy Christmas." So fun to give -- and meaningful to receive --a one-of-a-kind gift!

Wearable Art! I love it. I receive so many compliments every time I wear mine that I have bought several for my family and BFFs. 😁 Even the packaging is artful, making these necklaces extra-special gifts.

These are cards to save for year-round display. Unique and special... gifts on their own.

About

Drawing has been part of my life… forever! I am trained in illustration, drawing mediums, painting mediums, weaving and textile sculpture, small clay sculptures, bookmaking, and graphic design.

I love to draw on surfaces both as small as a coin and as large as a wall, flat and relief, on paper—metal—fiber—clay—wood—shell, translating what I see with the simplicity of a line and washes of color.

I began creating illustrated jewelry about a decade ago. This work emerged from a desire to repurpose precious objects that I had collected, such as a single earring of my grandmother’s or a piece of terra cotta from a broken planter. It’s important to me to create something new from something that might otherwise have been discarded.

The jewelry is a blending of theses collected materials with clay, watercolor paper, and paint. I combine metals especially when fashioning together the links of the chains. The imagery on the jewelry is an extension of my illustrations. Each piece is unique!

I inherited a love of nature from my grandmother and mother. Grandmother brought her rose bushes from her home in the northeast U.S. to the south. Each spring her back door was surrounded by gorgeous deep red and pink roses. My mother loved trees, flowers, and the ocean. She enjoyed photographing trees as they changed with the season.

Animals continually amaze and inspire me, and I support domestic and wild animal rescue efforts. I live with cats—whom I adore, but would happily add dogs, goats, rabbits, and horses to my ark. I love watching the wild little creatures around our home—tiny songbirds, hawks, owls, eagles, chipmunks, and squirrels. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see what I mean! @stanniek

I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop.

Wishes to you for inspiration and kindness.
