Hand-dyed wool and textile treasures from the Allgäu with love

At Stardys Spinnerey there are textile treasures made with love and hand-dyed wool.
I make sure that all my products are compatible with the buyer, as well as with animals and the environment. My merino wool comes exclusively from farms that do not mules. For all other yarns and textiles, I also pay attention to an environmentally friendly production method.

My hand-dyed wool is also knot-free, so that an unadulterated knitting and crochet fun is guaranteed.
The regional wool is always only in stock in small quantities and can only be reproduced with a longer waiting time. These sheep stand in the Allgäu on lush orchards. I have her wool spun specifically for you in very small quantities, so it remains something special.
Knitted, woven and sewn I produce myself in loving detail work and invest a lot of time here to be able to offer you wonderful textile treasures.

If you have any wishes in terms of color, yarn thickness or patterns for woven textiles, please contact me!

I myself have absolutely fallen for the handicraft virus.
But somehow it all got off to a bumpy start. In school I learned (with moderate success) embroidery and crochet. My mum wanted to teach me how to knit when I was 10 years old. Again, no success....
However, when my mum broke her foot in February 2016 and no sock fit over the plaster, the ambition gripped me. I taught myself how to knit via Youtube. By the time the first jumbo sock was finished, the plaster was already down again. But: I could finally knit!
From now on I knitted socks on the daily train rides. A short time later, the first spinning wheel moved in with me, half a year later the first loom.
My knitwear became bigger and more complicated. Pattern knitting, lace, sweater scarves, scarves,.... No wool is safe from me and no project is too complicated or too time-consuming for me.
Since I have always liked hand-dyed wool, I began to experiment in this area as well.
I informed myself about sheep breeds, husbandry conditions and the dilemma that many German sheep farmers experience. Their wool is worth almost nothing on the market because there are supposedly no buyers. That made me curious. Due to the climatic conditions, German wool is often a little more grippy than, for example, South American or Australian merino wool. But also in Germany there are merino sheep, whose wool is quite pleasant on the skin. And exactly this wool I offer you. Regional and fair.
For this purpose, from 2019 my offer will be included in my shop by medium-soft wool from Allgäu Shropshire sheep. The sheep belong to a beekeeper and shepherd friend and together we want to try to save the wool from the garbage dump. Because that's where she ended up in recent years.
This Allgäu wool is ideal for cardigans, vests or traditional costume fashion that is not worn directly on the skin. It is a bit more grippy and reminiscent of Icelandic wool.
In addition to the traditional traditional costume colors gray, dark green and brown, a more cheerful color selection in fashion colors is planned here. How about a pink traditional jacket for the lady? Or a royal blue Janker for the Lord?
All possibilities are open: a women's vest in Pantone's trend color 2021 yellow?

    I've always been passionately creative.
However, I only came to wool in my late 20s and knitting didn't even work!
Meanwhile, I only have wool in my head and almost constantly in my hands.
