A hearken back to a sweeter, slower time, Stella Erwin's is your place to buy stunning vintage glass bird feeders, glass wind chimes and rain chains. You can also shop our gourmet bird food line, for premium birdseed blends and luscious bird seed cakes. Bird feeders are created using light shades from early last century and the hardware system is brand new. Wind chimes are tumbled to create a sea or beach glass alternative. Bring a little bit of history and nostalgia into your garden paradise. And remember the bird seed!

Stella Erwin was an amazing woman whose history is filled with wonderful stories of love for her extended family and for life. Although she has been gone for over 50 years she still holds a special place in my heart. Great women are like that. They live on and on.

Thanks so much for visiting and reading!

Frequently asked questions
How long does a custom order take?

Custom bird feeder - 30-45 days to: search for glass, receive glass, install the hardware and ship it to you. I will keep you updated throughout the custom process.

Custom wind chime - 10 - 45 days depending; less time if I have your glass in stock, longer if not

Gift wrapping and packaging

Gift wrapping is available for an additional fee per item.

Care instructions

Bird Feeders are wrapped, packed and shipped like museum pieces. Tissue is placed inside the bowl to prevent hairline cracks then wrapped using cushioning foam. Then the piece is wraped with bubble wrap. It is then placed into a box and secured so it doesn't move around in shipment - not too tight though, just right. That box is placed inside a larger box (usually 14x14x10) and padding is placed on all 6 sides.

Wind chimes - each strand is wrapped with cushioning foam and then the entire chime is wrapped in bubble wrap. It is then placed into a 12x12x6 box and secured for shipment.

How durable are glass bird feeders

The glass bird feeders are created from ceiling fixtures from early last century, at a time when houses were not conditioned and light bulbs not energy efficient. The glass is thick and durable and able to withstand extreme temperatures.

How durable is the glass in the wind chimes?

The glass pieces in our wind chimes are tumbled in sand and water for 2-3 days creating a lovely sea or beach glass alternative. They are then drilled and strung on 20 lb fishing line. The tumbling and drilling eliminates flawed glass pieces. A final inspection is completed prior to stringing insuring that all glass pieces are smooth and tight.

Can I return or get a refund or return bird seed ornaments on sale?

Bird seed ornaments or gift boxes including bird seed ornaments that are also on sale cannot be returned and will not be refunded. The only time bird seed ornaments are on sale is when they are nearing end of freezer life, which also decreases shelf life. Thank you for your understanding.
