I create handwoven textiles inspired by vintage textiles I've seen, using antique tools.

Working with incredible textiles every day, I had long wanted to weave myself. I finally learned to weave about 10 years ago from Kate Smith at Marshfield School of Weaving in Marshfield VT. Every student weaves on antique barn looms, and I bought my loom from Kate. Far from quickly satisfying my urge, I find myself getting more and more intrigued and involved in the design process and in the production of useful textiles. I love to find inspiration in vintage textiles and apply it to my designs for objects that everyone can use and enjoy in their home.

I have been a textile conservator for over thirty years, and in the course of my work I've had the chance to see and handle many amazing textiles. This has inspired me to create my own textiles using antique tools.

All of my weaving is produced in a smoke-free environment. My pets are never allowed in my studio, but just so you know, I do have a dog and a cat.
