HI, and thanks for visiting STITCHCRAFTER.

At STITCHCRAFTER, I am committed to creating bags that a woman can be proud to wear and that set her apart from the crowd. It's also very important to me that they are structurally sound, easily accessible and comfortable.

I love to incorporate unexpected materials and colors with traditional styles. The totes and handbags are constructed primarily of home décor cottons. I'm especially in love with retro prints and barkcloth. Add to that vegan leather, hemp and canvas, all texturally rich and substantial, making for sturdy, structured handbags. You might notice I also have a penchant for Asian prints and woven ikats. It's rich combinations of color that excite me.

I strive to wed beauty with functionality when I create my bags. My style is inspired by classic and vintage handbags, utilitarian totes, and ethnic traditional bags.

There's a wide range of sizes, shapes and prices. I hope you find one that not only suits you, but thrills you.
******
I buy my fabrics in small lots to insure variety. Because of this, my bags are often one-of-a-kinds, or can be made only in limited quantity.

About

Artisan handbags crafted to showcase an eclectic assortment of fabrics and faux leathers.

My studio is full of brilliant colors, textures, and designs from shelves stacked full of fabrics. This is where I get inspired to do my work. I adore working with fabrics with rich patterns of
color, as well as delicious textures. I am especially drawn to Hawaiian barkcloth, mid-century prints, Japanese import prints, and , lately, lovely linen.

One of the wonderful things about sewing handbags is the multitude of sizes and shapes, colors and textures to explore. My work is driven by my penchant for mixing-and -matching fabrics. My strength is definitely in my eye for color, and in matching designs with fabrics to bring out the best in each.

Much of the time required making any bag is spent cutting the pieces: body, lining, and interfacing, and readying it before stitching ever begins. This structuring of my creations is very important to me.

I am personally passionate about each and every item I make. I know that it shows in the finished product. My goal as a creative artist is to offer not just a fashion accessory, but a carefully-crafted, tasteful piece of art any woman can feel pride and confidence in carrying.
