About

Yes, I carry sharp things and 'string.'

About the shop name: being mildly subversive, I may have engaged in knit graffiti on occasion, and graffiti artists have "tag names" or aliases. There is a stitch in knitting called "stockinette" and since my name is Annette, Stockannette became my "tag name" and later, the name of my Etsy shop!

    Owner

By day I have a cubicle-type job; I knit when get home in the evenings, because I LOVE it! There's something amazing about seeing someone wearing something fun and functional, that I made with my own two hands (and needles and yarn)!

  • Carmelita

    Mascot

I am Carmelita, the Syrian hamster in residence. I am sort of a silent partner, because part of the profits generally go toward blueberries, peanuts, or other snacks for me. I do not get to play in the yarn, though.

Thank you for shopping at Stockannette's!

My shop contains handmade items that I have personally created. All of my items come with cleaning instructions and are carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery to you.

♦ You've probably noticed I have hat sections in my shop for kids of all different ages. Some notes about my sizing:

"Newborn" means 0-3 months old.
"Baby" means 4-12 months old.
"Toddler" means 12 months to 3 years old.
"Child" is a kid over 3 years old, to pre-teen.

These are estimates, since every child's head is different. I have also listed the size range for each hat in inches. You might consider your one-year-old's head tiny, or think that your six-month-old has a big ol' head, so knowing the actual measurement is the best way to ensure that the hat you're interested is going to fit the kiddo in your life. To measure someone's head, please measure around the head, from just above the eyebrows all the way around the biggest part of the back of his/her head. Customers often contact me right after a child's checkup, since doctors measure baby's heads; this is great, and yes, I can convert centimeters to inches, if needed - no problem!

♦ Regarding the newest additions to my shop, HAND-SPUN YARNS:

By default, your yarn will be mailed to you in a hank, as pictured in the listing. If you prefer a center-pull ball, please let me know by choosing "ball" under Preparation during checkout.

I set the twist in my yarns with a mild wool wash.

♦ Have I mentioned I'm glad you're here? I really am!

Shipping
I ship within one business day of payment clearing (frequently, I am able to ship items that same day).

Items are shipped via USPS First Class Mail unless you choose an optional Priority Mail shipping upgrade. If you prefer I use a different carrier, send me a convo and I will be happy to explore another option for you!

♦ I use recycled packing/shipping materials whenever possible.

Additional policies and FAQs
♦ Note for customers with allergy considerations: all my items are made in a non-smoking home free of dogs, cats, or birds (we do have a little hamster, but she doesn't get to play with my yarns or fibers). Our home is also free of perfumed candles, air-freshening scents, etc.

♦ If your order is a gift and you would like me to ship it directly to the recipient, please alert me, so that I will know not to include a price on the receipt included in the package. I'm also happy to gift wrap and include a note "from you" - just let me if it's for a specific occasion and what you would like the note to say in your Message to Seller during checkout.

♦ I welcome questions and conversations ("convos") and am glad to give and receive feedback!
