My Journey

Welcome to Stoney Creek Arts. I'm glad you stopped by to browse. I love creating beautiful art to wear for every day and special occasions. I have been making jewelry for many years, progressing from stringing beads on a variety of cords, to fabricating more complex pieces. Presently I love weaving wire using various gauges of wire to create a “fabric”, with the thicker wire as the base while the thinner wire is woven over and under in patterns. It is similar to basket weaving though on a much smaller scale, using wire instead of basket materials.

I’m grateful for the many online and local teachers who have assisted me in transforming my skill level and to whom I am deeply grateful for their teaching abilities. Specifically I need to thank Tracey Bell, a local jewelry artist and teacher. Additionally, I have learned extensively from Sarah Thompson, Lisa Barth, and Nicole Hanna through their books, tutorials and online classes. You'll see their influence in my designs.

And the most exciting part is that there is always more to learn. Check back often to see what new techniques I've incorporated into my designs.

Returns and exchange details
Please read the item description carefully before purchasing. Contact me if you have any questions before purchasing. Also realize your color monitor may distort the colors of the beads and stones which is why I try to describe the colors of the materials used in the items.

Please contact me within 3 days of purchase for an exchange or refund. You are responsible for the cost of returning the item which I must receive within 7 days after you have received it for you to be eligible for the refund or exchange. You will only be reimbursed for the cost of the item, and not for the cost of shipping it to you or back to me. You must ship it back to me using USPS Priority mail and send me the tracking number. The item must be returned in the same condition it was in when I sent it to you, undamaged and unused. If this is not followed, I will not guarantee a full refund.
I accept Paypal, VISA, Master Card, and direct check out. Please pay at time of purchase. I will ship only when I receive payment in my account which may delay shipping a few days. Please contact me by email if you have any questions.
I typically ship within 3-5 days of receiving payment. If there will be a delay, I will let you know ASAP. I use USPS Priority Mail through Etsy which offers tracking and shipping confirmation. I know this option is a bit more expensive but experience has proven to give both me and you, my customer, peace of mind, speed of delivery, and reliability, and therefore is the best option. If you wish you upgrade at checkout to USPS Priority Express, please do.

If you want the item sent to another address as a gift, I would love to do that for you. Just let me know the address, the occasion and the details, like it's a birthday or Mother's Day gift, and I'll gift wrap for free. Just sent me the the alternate address and the name of the recipient. I'd be happy to take care of it for you.

Please make sure your address is correct as this has been an issue in the past and it is impossible to retrieve your item once it goes into the mail system. If you give me an incorrect address, I am not responsible for the loss of the item once it is mailed.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you request me to make a custom order, I require 50% down which is non-refundable. The remainder is due when the piece is completed before I mail it to you. I will discuss in detail the piece with you and take pictures.

My skills lie in having freedom to design and working with some loose guidelines provided by the client. My strength lies in modifying a jewelry piece I've previously made, such as making it with a different stone, or a slight modified shape. I also enjoy using a meaningful item provided by a client and incorporating it into a piece.
