About

Stylish bow ties with great care and attention to detail

When I started my small business Strangely Ever After I had so many plans and goals for it. Every day I work to be a little bit closer to those goals and those dreams with every item that I create. It has been an amazing experience making the leap to selling my creations online. I love the freedom that having an online shop gives, I don't have to worry about appealing to the tastes of one specific boutique owner and I love being able to connect to people all over the world.

I believe in things being well made as well as made to last. Even if this means taking extra time to add linings or interfacing. To hand embroider over machine embroidery. To use quality cottons, linens, silks, and wools instead of cheap flimsy synthetics. To take the extra time to do hand stitched detailing. My process may be long but it creates a finished item that will last years if not a lifetime.

How I source my materials for my shop has been an important aspect of my business to me. I prefer shopping local at small family owned businesses over large chain stores as well as having a preference to already produced vintage fabrics.

I was once told that I have a different view for the world and that I should always express that view and always follow the vision that I see; that it is OK and maybe even wonderful to be eclectic and that it is maybe even more wonderful to be a little bit strange. Since hearing that I have decided to be unapologetically me; I feel that this aspect of my personality is very evident in my shop and in everything I create.

Hello and welcome to my shop I have been sewing since I was a young girl and I love making new things and trying out new techniques. I get my inspiration from folk tales and the beautiful scenery here near the Sierra Nevada mountains. I try to make my items as perfect as possible; with straight even seams and plenty of pressing so it looks just right.

Payment
I accept Paypal, Major Credit Cards, and Etsy gift cards. By law I do have to collect sales tax for California residents. I collect tax at the state rate of 7.5% except for orders in my home county (Nevada county) which I collect the state rate plus the district rate for a total of 8.125% collected.
Shipping
Item will be made and shipped out within 3-5 business days (not including weekends or holidays) of purchase.

Delivery times will vary based on location, method of shipping selected upon checkout, and time of the year.

For a quick estimate of when to expect your item take my processing time (3-5 business days) and add the shipping times from the method of shipping you selected. Don't forget to not include weekends and holidays in your estimation.

For Domestic Buyers
once the item is shipped:

First Class Mail typically takes 3-5 business days (not including weekends or holidays) to arrive.

Priority Mail typically takes 2-3 business days (not including weekends or holidays) to arrive.

Priority Mail Express typically takes 1-2 business days (not including weekends or holidays) to arrive.

**Inclement weather, national and bank holidays, the closure of dozens of USPS sorting centers, or civil unrest can cause delays in shipping**

Please make sure that you use the correct address when checking out. If you purchase an item and you realize that you used the wrong address I will need to refund and cancel your order and have you re-purchase it with the correct address. If your item is already shipped once you realize that an incorrect address was used, you are responsible for the cost of re-shipping the item.

For International Buyers

If you are interested in multiple items but are worried about the shipping charges feel free to message me and I can get a more accurate estimate for you.

You are responsible for the payment of any additional customs fees, duties, VAT fees, or release fees. Please do not ask me to falsify customs forms and state the package as a gift instead of merchandise. It is illegal and I can be fined, face jail time, and lose my business.

Etsy now displays in listings and upon checkout the message "VAT included (where applicable)" I am not able to collect and remit VAT and VAT is not included in the purchase price or in the shipping of my items.

Please message me before hand if you absolutely need your item by a certain time so I can more fully research the shipping options and their expected delivery dates. As with domestic shipping inclement weather, the holidays, or even civil unrest can cause a delay in shipping times.

International First Class Mail takes on average 10-14 business days (not including weekends or holidays) but can be delayed for up to 5 weeks or in very rare cases even longer; there is no guarantee on delivery date provided by USPS.

International Priority Mail typically takes 6-10 business days with delivery to a major market (the more rural your location the more potential for delays); but USPS offers no guarantee on delivery date and if you live in a much more rural city it can take longer.

International Express Mail typically takes 3-5 business days with delivery to a major market (the more rural your location the more potential for delays); depending on the location USPS can give a guaranteed delivery date but they also have stated that delivery can be delayed and in this case I can file a claim and try and get a portion of the shipping costs refunded to you.

I insure all of my international orders. This is to protect both my customers and myself.

Please make sure that you use the correct address when checking out. If you purchase an item and you realize that you used the wrong address I will need to refund and cancel your order and have you re-purchase it with the correct address. If your item is already shipped once you realize that an incorrect address was used, you are responsible for the cost of re-shipping the item.

At this time I do not offer local pickup or drop-off. To retain seller protection via Etsy/PayPal, my items must be shipped using a trackable postal service.

In the case of missing or stolen packages I can either give you a full refund or send the item with the same shipping method (First Class, Priority, or Express) originally used at no cost to you.

For a full refund I need to first file an insurance claim and depending on the shipping method used this can delay the refund until USPS will accept the claim that the item is lost this is typically 20 days for domestic and 40 days for international orders from the date that the item was supposed to be delivered.

If your item shows that it was delivered but you did not receive it I can attempt to file an insurance claim but you must file a mail theft report with your local police department; insurance claims for stolen mail are typically rejected if this is not done. Many states require the receiver to file the insurance claims, if this is the case for your state I will supply you with any information and direct you on how to file the claim.
Refunds and Exchanges
My goal is your complete happiness with your purchase if you have any questions or concerns feel free to message me.

If you are not happy for any reason please send the item back within 60 days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price (not including any shipping costs). The item must be in original condition (this means no physical damage, fabric stains, or scent stains on the item). All returns are to be shipped through registered mail with a tracking number forwarded to me by Etsy messages or email. The returned item must be received by me before I can issue a refund. If the item is stained/damaged do to wear I will not be able to offer a full refund only a partial depending on the extent of the damage.
If you are interested in an exchange send the item back following the above criteria for a return (this includes item in original condition) and once I receive the item I can give you a refund. Then purchase the item you want as a normal transaction.

All items are packaged securely and wrapped with care, but if for some reason the item you receive is damaged, please notify me immediately through Etsy conversations or within 7 days. I will need pictures of the damaged item as well as pictures of the packaging to file a claim with the post office. Once the claim is filed I can then give you a refund or a replacement item; I will pay for the shipping of the replacement item to you in this situation.
