These bib overall shorts are simply amazing! Both pairs were inspired by styles from the 1960's, and both were customized to my measurements. I'm impressed by the superb craftsmanship and the attention to detail, and I'm so looking forward to wearing these colorful playsuits, one made of satin and the other of crepe de chine. Five stars!!

Gorgeous bib overall shorts! Love the 60's style, the fit, and the multicolored satin fabric. So pleased that the outfit was customized to my measurements. Five big stars!!

Get your colours on and mix cute and edgy and join the colour-obsessed party revolution!

Striking Kittens began after I completed fashion school, as much as I am a total shopaholic, the high street fashion was not providing enough variety to satiate my individuality and creativity. So I took matters into my own hands and starting creating new and interesting colourful garments to satisfy my broad and quirky tastes!

My inspiration comes from everywhere, I waste so much time trawling the internet and vintage fashion books for inspiration from the past. I'm inspired by food, events, movies, books, fabrics, art, friends, music and the street. I love the vibrant clubbing and music festival scene and the club-goers enthusiam to push the boundaries of fashion and creativity.

Everything you find for sale at Striking Kittens is thought up inside my little brain, sketched onto a traditional art pad, and then begins life as I wade through my gargantuan fabric stash or fabric stores searching for the perfect fabric. I then create the pattern, I use manual flat pattern-making techniques, to create the perfect pattern.

From there, I spend quality time with my scissors and sewing machine, making sample and sample until the garment fits just right! Finally, I make the final sample (I can't resist making one for myself) and then the completed garment. All from my crazy head to hot little hand!

I started Striking Kittens after I graduated from fashion school. I felt the variety in the shopping centres to be lacking, so I took it upon myself to change the situation! I love making the world prettier through fashion!

Frequently asked questions

Can you make something from a picture I send?

Sorry, but I will not copy another designers work. The final product will never be exactly the same as the image due to availability of fabrics and differing machine techniques. If you like one of my original designs, I'm happy to make small adjustments for an additional charge (see Custom Listings).

Care instructions

My garments are machine washable, however, please use a gentle cycle to do so. For those with decorations such as rhinestones, please use a wash-bag. Remember to put similar colours together and never wash light colours with dark, especially reds, which are prone to run and stain your wash. Keep items away from abrasive surfaces such as velcro, chains and spikes.

Custom and personalised orders

Please send a message through Conversations if you are interested in a custom order. Custom orders include changes to one of my original patterns, such as custom measurements or additions not on the original design. Please remember, that I do not copy other designer's work, but I am happy to work with you on my original designs. Please note custom orders attract additional charges which vary with each request.

Why do you only have limited sizes/fabrics?

As my store is just me and is additional to my regular daytime job, I often buy fabric from commercial stores, online or thrift stores. This means that fabric is often very limited supply. So I often just make what I can make from what I have. If you love a design and are happy with an alternate fabric choice, why not discuss a custom order with me through Conversations? Please note custom orders attract additional charges which vary which each request.
