Hi! I'm Charley! I'm a genderqueer (they/them), panromantic, asexual, neurodivergent designer-maker from the UK!

I run two businesses - Picnics & Poison, and this one, Studio Chuffed!

Studio Chuffed sells my pride-themed enamel pins, patches, stickers, and pre-tied bow ties. Everything is designed by me, including the fabric I use for my bow ties! I also hand make all the bow ties and button badges.

The name "Studio Chuffed" is a play on words - "Chuffed" is British slang, meaning "very pleased". However, "Chuff" is also a reference to my first cat, who ended up being called "Chuff" since I couldn't pronounce "Mischief" (his original name) when I was little! And he was ginger, hence the orange branding!


-Why did you start a business?-

I launched my first business, Pixie Bluebell, as a high school project back in 2013! It sold hair bows. It did surprisingly well, and I got a top grade on the project!

During sixth form college, I branched out into bow ties. These took off (relative to my hair bows at least!), and I decided to move them to their own shop - this one! Studio Chuffed opened on the 2nd of September 2016.

I enjoyed running the business so much that after sixth form college, I decided to try to go full-time self-employed instead of going to university!

I eventually closed Pixie Bluebell so I could focus on Studio Chuffed. Over the years I've created a large variety of products, including a huge range of pride-themed products!

In 2021, Studio Chuffed became solely a LGBTQIA+ pride business, and I opened another business, Picnics & Poison, to sell a variety of my other products!

I love designing products, interacting with my lovely customers, and seeing my products being gifted and used all over the world!

Frequently asked questions
What if my parcel doesn't arrive?

Most parcels arrive within the estimated shipping times. However, occasionally it can take longer. Royal Mail will not class items as missing until 10 business days (UK), 20 business days (Europe), or 25 business days (Outside Europe) have passed since dispatch. I don't issue refunds or replacements until these periods have passed, as parcels have been known to arrive within these time frames, especially during busy times of year!

If this period has passed, please contact me!

What if I'm sent the wrong item(s)?

I triple check all parcels before sending them. However, if I have sent you the wrong item, please send me a photo of it, and I'll sort it out!

How long will it take to arrive? Will it arrive by a certain date?

Estimated shipping times are available to view in my policies. These are business days, so they do not include weekends and holidays. Please note they are estimates and not guarantees. If you need it for a specific date, I would always recommend ordering as early as possible to give it the best chance of arriving in time.

Do you offer childrens bow ties? Will your bow tie fit my child?

I only sell pre-tied bow ties in a size suitable for adults and teenagers, and my bow ties are not suitable or recommended for children.

What is the benefit of marking as gift?

"Mark as Gift" is recommended if you are sending a gift straight to the recipient without you receiving it first.

By marking your order as a gift, you are able to include a gift message with your order, which I will include in the parcel.

Please note: if your order is going to an address outside the UK, the price and type of product will be visible on the customs declaration on the outside of the parcel.

Marking as gift does NOT result in your order being gift wrapped. All items in your order will arrive without wrapping.

Also please note: I will not include any gift messages that include profanities, insults, threatening messages, or anything that could be interpreted as these. Be kind!

What are the shipping options? (And other shipping info)

UK
Orders are sent by “Royal Mail 2nd Class” as standard. At checkout you can upgrade to “Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class”, “Royal Mail 1st Class” or “Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class”. “1st Class” is a quicker service, and “Signed For” provides proof of delivery.

International
Orders are sent by Royal Mail International Standard as standard. At checkout you can upgrade to “International Tracked”. “Tracked” provides tracking for your order but is not quicker.

Upgrading your shipping does not affect dispatch time. If you need your order dispatched ASAP, please contact me & I will try to help, however this may not always be possible.

Please note: Shipping upgrades are non-refundable in the event you chose to return your order.

When will my order be dispatched?

Orders take 1-5 business days to dispatch. This is unless otherwise stated on the item page or on my "shop announcement".

This also excludes pre-orders, custom, and bulk orders, for which the dispatch time will be discussed prior to ordering.

If you need your order to be dispatched sooner, please message me and I will try to accommodate, however this may not always be possible.

I entered the wrong address! Can I change it?

If you contact me before your order has shipped, then I can change the address I ship it to. Please note that the address shown on the Etsy order page won't change to reflect this, but I will confirm that I've changed it via message!

If your order has already been shipped then I can no longer change the address, sorry! In this case you will either have to visit the other address or order another one.

I cannot refund orders with the wrong address that have already been shipped, unless the original order is returned.

Can I return my order?

Yes! Contact me first, within 14 days of delivery. If your return is accepted, I must receive your return within 30 days. Please don't send a return until I've accepted your request!

Please Note:
-You're responsible for return shipping costs.
-The item(s) must be in their original condition & unused.
-If the item(s) are not returned in their original condition, you are responsible for any loss in value.
-If the item(s) are in the correct condition, you will receive your refund once I have received and checked the item(s).

If all items are returned to me, I will refund the cost of the item(s) and standard delivery price. Shipping upgrades are non-refundable.

If part of an order is returned, I will only refund the cost of item(s) returned.
