another Happy Post today...💖😍 The arrival of 'Dave' 😻 my new journal in Rose Quartz 🌺💜😘 It really is a lovely notebook and actually very impressed with the good quality paper. The attention to detail of the journal and the packaging is just awesome... and another awesome thing..I have an extra gift added, a matching mini Dave to hang out with me everyday. 🙀😻 I will definitely be ordering again. Thank you Michelle for a wonderful experience in ordering from you.

Dave is my new favourite cat! This notebook is excellent quality and the perfect size to fit in the pocket of my bag for thoughts on the go. Will be buying another one once he's full. :)

What a fantastic little notebook! My son is in love with cats and he was so happy to receive this. I bought myself the same in orange. Lovely paper quality and all hand made. We're in awe. I changed my order at the last minute and Michelle was very accommodating. The package came through the door and brightened up our day, bright orange with a cheeky little mog on the label. My son was ecstatic. And to top it all off we got a little Dave badge as an extra. It was such a lovely surprise for my little 3 year old cat fanatic. Thank you!

I draw stupidcats!

"Good gracious me!" the lady cried,
"Pray tell me, what is that?!"
"Aha!" the gentleman replied,
"Why, that's a stupidcat!"

"They're quite the thing, you know," he gushed,
"So colourful and small,"
And lowering his voice, he said:
"I've seven on my wall!"

"Well, bless my soul!" the lady said,
"But wait - what have you there?"
The gent was holding up a book,
His pen poised in the air.

"A notebook, made by stupidcats,"
He said, and glowed with pride,
"They're quite unique, and all handmade,
With posh paper inside!"

Hellooooo, my name's Michelle and I live in Nottinghamshire in the UK. I produce my illustrations, notebooks, screen prints and badges at stupidcats HQ - which is actually a rather small desk in the corner of our rather small living room in our rather small house.

I'm a mainly self-taught artist, illustrator, and designer/maker who loves cats, books and trains. When I'm not working full time in the railway industry, I'm either working on my stupidcats or writing children's stories and silly rhymes. I've loved drawing since I was tiny, but sadly some of my earliest works are now lost because they were drawn on the wall next to my bed in my childhood home!

Stupidcats have been around since 2001, when I drew a cat, thought it looked a bit stupid, so called it a stupidcat. I started selling my little cat portraits, and other illustrations, in a small art gallery while I was living in Iceland.

After dabbling in other projects (including needle felting, which I'd love to get back in to at some point) I'm now concentrating on my stupidcats, and my mission is for them to take over the world!

As a graphic designer early in my working career I developed a love of beautiful paper, so I make sure that the paper and card (and other materials) I use in my products are of the finest quality, and where possible I try to source my materials locally, or through independent suppliers.

Since re-launching my stupidcats brand in summer 2015, I've been busy learning new skills to enable me to bring you lovely new goodies! I've been intrigued by bookbinding since I was small, and finally set aside time to research and learn the processs. This resulted in launching my handmade notebooks in October 2015 - just simple, hand stitched notebooks, but I take great pleasure in folding and sewing each one by hand, and trimming the edges with a Very Sharp Knife to give the kind of finish you'd rarely find with mass-produced ones.

Having started my working life in the printing industry, another thing on my "must learn" list has been screen printing, and I'm over the moon to have finally been able to learn the process and to now be able to produce my own prints at home. My new range of greetings cards are all individually hand pulled, and I'm now perfecting printing on to fabric - look out for my colourful cat tote bags, which I'm hoping to launch in May 2016. T-shirts and more fabric goodies are in the pipeline too!

As I work long hours in a non-cat related full time job at the moment, frequently staying away from home, stupidcats may take a while to take over the world... but be warned... they're slowly and steadily popping up on more delightful handmade creations, always of the best quality materials, and carefully drawn and designed with the utmost care to appeal to even the fussiest of cats!
