I am so excited about this purchase!! My aunt was gifted one of these for Christmas and my mom was so jealous! (Both my mom and my aunt grew up in a house right on M22.) Although I have to wait until May, I am so excited to give this to her. This is a beautiful, well made piece. And it shipped amazingly fast. Thanks so much!!

About

The 40 year trail to an overnight sucsess, almost.

I took my first stained glass class 39 years ago. I was never real good at cutting or soldering. When mosaic stepping stones became popular, I jumped right into it: breaking glass and making benches, bird baths, oblisks, anything sitting still was fair game for my mad talents! . My darling hubby was my inspiration, cheer leader and main support as I built a business based on grout and glass and lots of concrete. He was also my main lift and tote guy. He bought me a kiln for Christmas, thinking clocks or jewelry from the bits of glass I had stacked around made good sense, and easier to carry!

Well, it sounded good! I spent months testing glass pieces for compatibility, just like it said to do in the books. Books were the only source of information I had. Nobody was fusing locally. I could drape glass into nice vases though! At hubby's urging, I called a big glass distributer, who, even though they didn't do fusing, nor would they ever as they claimed at the time, recommended that I try using Bullseye glass. They were the only company making compatible fusible glass at that time. So, that helped!! Since that time, I've made everything in glass, including the bathroom sink! Of course, it took a couple of trips to classes in Corning, NY, and 2 more kilns, but I can pretty much do what I like to do. Which is play with glass.

I've given classes to high school students, as part of a mentoring program, I've taught fusing to adults and children. I've had 6 studios in all, and I work in 3 currently. All financed by the work that I've created.

Currently, I'm taking classes through the New York Institute of Jewelry Design in NY. My new designs are on the table now. I can't wait to see how it's going to turn out.

I'm a glass-a-holic. I love glass, I love cutting it, crushing it, melting it, shaping it, and mostly, feeling it. I drink from it, store in it, gaze upon it and most of all fondle it. I adore working with glass, and mostly in jewelry form.

My art glass pendants are fused in a special process that requires no fewer than three firings in the kiln to form, anneal, shape and fire polish the glass that creates the special focal point of my jewelry..

All of the fused glass items have been created by me, a 'Self Representing Artist - Jewelry Designer' #0354 & SRA-glass F15, with 15 years of experience in creating one of a kind original fused creations. As a student in the New York Institute of Jewelry Design, I am constantly learning new techniques and finding my own sense of design.

All of my pieces pass safety tests and will withstand years of wear. My art glass of preference is Bullseye glass, the first guaranteed compatible fusible glass ever offered to glass artists. Top of the line!

I have Trade-a-bility! I am FREQUENTLY willing to trade for Etsy items, please don’t hesitate to ask! If you see something of mine that you’d like to trade for, let me know! If it’s possible to trade, I will. Sometimes, it is just not feasible so don’t be offended if I can’t at this moment. There’s always later!

Cheers!
Cheri
