From “La Soie du Paradis” to recycled beads

Marie-Claude and her partner have traveled extensively before starting Style SO Original. These travels have brought her in contact with incredible people: Silk weavers from “La Soie du Paradis”, a micro-enterprise in Laos; Nina Heyer, the German handbag designer now living in Thailand who opened a leather goods business in Bangkok. Style SO Original is also synonymous with beautiful leather bracelets made with recycled beads. These long strands of pearls are done manually with a hand-fed spindle.
Style SO Original jewellery collection includes a line of jewellery designed in collaboration with Quebec designer Julie Bessette and a collection of bracelets made of buffalo horns. All in all, this collection holds over 300 pieces. Amazing!

Giving back to others mixed with style and pleasure!

Finds at Style SO Original are more than pretty things: they allow those in need to come out of poverty by earning a decent income and contribute to their country’s economic development.
For example, the leather and feather pompoms created by Nina Heyer in Bangkok give work to people of Thanks Giving Home, which offers shelters to mothers in need; bracelets made with mini-pearls, made one by one by the women artisan of a Masai tribe gives them financial independence; hand-made ebony jewelry fabricated by George in Tanzania offers scholarships to youngsters in his area.

Frequently asked questions
