Behind the Beads!
12+ years ago I discovered just how much I love beads. What began as a way to make coordinating jewelry for my corporate clothing turned into a full-time obsession. I now own Suburban Girl Studio LLC. My days are spent making beads out of stoneware, porcelain and raku. I also enjoy metalsmithing, bead embroidery, chain maille and exploring other art mediums.
My work has been featured in the following magazines; Bead Design Studio (formerly Bead Unique), Bead-It Today, Bead Trends, Beadwork and Jewelry Stringing. I am also a regular contributor to Art Jewelry Elements (www.artjewelryelements.blogspot.com).
All my beads are made by me out of my studio in New Jersey. Visit my blog to see how they are made!
Thank you for supporting handmade!

Colin M. (aka The Suburban Guy)
Raku & Kiln Assistant
That's my husband Colin! He assists in raku-firings, as it is a two-person process. Without him I'd be unable to fire all those wonderful shiny pieces! He's also Mr. Fix-it when it comes to kiln issues. Thanks Colin!
