I'm so enamored with this gorgeous "ghastly ghost girl" that I just ordered her a little ghost girl friend. They are irresistible for Halloween that's for sure!!!
Such a glamorous skeleton!! Can't wait to show her off in October!
Toni really excels at styling the hair and clothing for her delightful assortment of dolls. I love everything about this pilgrim girl's persona...from her red hair tied with white scarf down to her white lace apron and black, fuzzy skirt trim. This little one is a fashionista--no doubt!!
so, how did I become a creatress extraordinaire?
About 14 yrs ago, I was a stay at home mom needing some me time so I started playing around with a gluegun.
Sadly, right around this time my grandmother passed away. While helping my mom clean out my grandother's closet, I had an "Ah-Ha!" moment. I started reflecting on what a special person she was. Her hair was always beauty shop perfect, makeup nicely applied and she was always dressed so fancy. Like she was always ready for a special occassion. For some reason, just seeing all of her things all together in her closet like that just really left an impression on me.
I learned some things about her that day. For one thing, she never threw anything away. This has something to do with her generation and the Depression. I ended up inheriting a vast collection of costume jewelry, fabric, etc...
I was feeling very inspired and started incorporating items that belonged to my grandmother into my creations.
I made fancy little dolls in her image. Family and friends started to show interest in them and that's when I got the idea to start a business. I named it Sugar Cookie Dolls & Jewels in honor of my grandmother, Margaret Cooke Milam AKA: Grandma Cookie
In the summer of 2005 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I started attaching a sash ribbon onto some of my dolls to represent breast cancer awareness. When you see a "party pixie" wearing a party hat, this represents the importance of celebrating your life and some dolls wear crowns, this is my way of reminding you to treat yourself right.
I love shabby chic, vintage and retro things from the 40's - 70's, I love to laugh, joke around and be silly. I spend most of my days working at my desk, listening to music very loudly to drowned out my sweet precious dog's snoring. I am a very positive and happy person by nature and I hope that is conveyed in my whimsical creations.

Everything in my shop is hand crafted by me. I put a lot of effort, time and love into each piece. They are not toys. They are not suitable for children. If you choose to brush a dolls hair then guess what... The hair will fall out. They are purely decorative pieces of art. Do not store in extreme temps. They are not dishwasher safe. They are not microwave safe. The mermaids do not want to swim in your bathtub or in your pool. AND for the love of sweet baby Jesus Do NOT Eat them - They are not cookies!
Gift wrapping and packaging
I would be happy to gift wrap items for you; include a note, send it to a different address - whatever you need, it is my pleasure!
When you order an item from me, you can expect it to promptly arrive packaged in a pink bakery box. Some items that I sell are too large to fit in a bakery box, so it will be carefully packaged a different way.
Do you bake cookies?
Ummm... No. Sugar Cookie Dolls are not made of cookie dough and would not be easily digested, I would have to assume. I am not running a bakery.
