About

You see what happen was....

Sugar-Coated Chaos was started back in 2007 but it was orignally a title for my small comic strips I use to draw. I loved to draw anime, write short stories and craft till my little heart was content. From 2000-2005 I loved to work as retail managment. I loved getting to know my co-workers and meeting the many customers that walked in the door. Those customers then became my regulars and I would enjoy seeing their faces light up when I greet them. In 2006 I became pregnant with Emma and decided to stay home and I would work on all sorts of crafty things to keep me occupied while Lillian was in school. My husband was overseas at that time and we both agreed that I would stay home till Emma was a year old(like I did with Lillian) and once he returned home. I was looking forward to starting work, I had a few job interviews lined up but due to unforeseen events I had to turn them down.

In July of 2008, the place where we had moved into had replaced the front porch stairs but failed to screw/nail down one of the planks. I fell which resulted in shattering my right ankle and breaking my leg in two places. (OUCH!) After two surgeries I am left with metal in my ankle and a 14 inch metal rod in my leg. I worked really hard to get myself out of the wheelchair that I was in for 6 months. I even got the "OKAY" from the surgeon saying I could go back to work. Three months after my last surgery to remove a screw from my ankle (so I would have more mobility) I went back to work. Sadly two weeks I had to leave since being on my leg for 4 hours a day was beyond anything I have been through. The pain and swelling would cause me to unfocus with customers and was unable to take care of my duties at work and as well as in the home front as well. That was heartbreaking to me since I enjoyed being able to help with the finances in the household.

I had been crafting to keep me occupied and was filling the house with all my creative creations. One day I had posted pics of what I made and got a message asking if I would be willing to sell an item and BAM! I found my calling. Since I was not able to work on my feet I relied on starting a small business and selling my wares.

In 2011 I went to my first convention and made money selling the creations that I made. I saw those people's faces come to my table with huge smiles and I could see the joy that they got from everything I made and knew this is what I wanted to do. I rely on selling my items to help with bills, help plan my daughters's birthdays, help with holidays and able to replenish my supplies. I still have a dream that I will be able to sell my items in shops, average a few sales a week and be a proper small business woman helping my family.

I am a quirky, random, and kind person. I don't like to be boring with those that know me and I like to be that one person that can make you laugh and smile.
