About
Finding balance - A creative outlet from a technical world.
Confession - I'm an engineer. I married an engineer. We'll probably have little engineering babies. Why am I telling you this? Because it is probably not the first thing you would assume looking at my etsy shop. Because it is an important part of why I started my shop.
I lived in a technical world - lots of math, lots of experiments. I loved it. I still do. But I discovered in college I needed balance and a creative outlet. It started with girls nights, crafting, and baking parties. It continued with a fairly DIY wedding, more baking (=happy husband!), sewing lessons, cake decorating, and teaching myself how to crochet. Somewhere in there I was introduced to etsy.
I launched SugarTree and made wedding favors for fun while working full time - I'm not sure I even made a profit during the first year :). Since then I have moved out of the technical world and into one of diapers and cheerios. My etsy shop still serves as my creative outlet :). At SugarTree you'll find my latest projects - items originally created for myself or a friend that I thought would be fun to share. I also use SugarTree as a companion for my blog theselittleloves.com. My shop contents change with my life - which is what makes this fun.
