About

In the tradition of the Arts and Crafts aesthetic

I came to relief printing as a way to express my love for the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements. For years I had admired the beautiful art of early 20th century printmakers like William Rice and Gustave Baumann. After a while I decided I'd teach myself to express my own ideas in linoleum and ink. It’s a special thrill each time I lift the plate from the paper and see the fruits of my original work for the first time.

Summer Triangle Studios came about in 2005, named for my favorite constellation, the Summer Triangle. It was then that I began selling jewelry on my own website. I still make jewelry and sell some of it here on Etsy, but my focus in this shop is my relief printing.

Thanks for visiting my little shop! I take pride in my artwork and I'm flattered you're interested enough to look. If you're curious about my process or anything, please shoot a convo my way!

About my jewelry: I'm a bench jeweler, which means I do everything by hand, one piece at a time, in my little garage studio. Everything is unique and everything inevitably reflects my own personal tastes. I take pride in it and I have a lot of fun doing it.

About my prints: Please note that any print you receive is a totally original piece of hand-pulled artwork. Each print within every print run comes out a little differently from the last. Therefore, you may find the occasional ink smudge on a print. This is not a defect! This is a natural part of the process of relief printing, and just more proof that you have an original and unique piece of art.
