This yarn is GORGEOUS! I ordered osage orange and medium logwood - both colors are so pretty and this yarn is so very, very soft... I can't wait to knit them up!

Lovely seller. Beautiful, well made product. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

ash had fidgety fingers that never rested...

...and so, ash knit. and knit. and knit. ash knit custom gifts for every member of the undergraduate acting family. and then ash kept knitting, creating soft yummy pieces in exchange for favours and other items. ash was also a yarn snob by this point, refusing any sort of non-natural fibre.

over the years, ash transferred their knitting expertise into designing patterns. and then ash learned how to do naturally dyeing. now, sunflower knit is a mixture of stunning knitwear designs and hand-dyed fibre naturally dyed by ash in their kitchen. some notions gets thrown in there too. ash believes in making beautiful items slowly with beautiful materials and tools.

ash loves to do collaborative multi-disciplinary projects with other artists. "when nature fought back" was a knitwear collection released in 2015, in collaboration with seven other artists from varying disciplines.

thanks for dropping by! sunflower knit was founded by me, ash, during my master's in london, uk. i'm an awkward canadian who deals with life by knitting and devising theatre. i hand dye yarn in small batches using natural materials that are foraged, compost from my kitchen, or bought from ethical sources. i do custom orders upon request. i believe in the beauty of the everyday item.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
at the moment, paypal is the method of payment i accept. if for some reason this doesn't work for you, please contact me and we'll work something out.
i use canada post for all of my shipping. i will do my absolute best to avoid customs charges for you, however i am not responsible for any customs charges or extra taxes that may occur.

TRACKING: all packages shipped within canada are automatically tracked. if you are ordering from outside of canada and would like your item(s) tracked, please let me know and i will upgrade your package to the most economical option that allows that. i will create a custom shipping update for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
i do not accept refunds on custom orders. other items may be refunded on a case-by-case basis, for the original cost of the item (or sale cost, if that is what you paid). i am not responsible for covering the shipping of returned items. refunds will be made once the item is either in the mail and we both have a way of tracking it, or once i receive the item. unfortunately, i can't control snail mail and so will not be able to replace lost items, due to the ooak nature of my pieces. i will happily add liability coverage onto any shipment and tracking onto any international shipment for peace of mind. canada post automatically tracks regular, expedited, and priority parcels within canada. items must be returned in their original condition for a refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
i do custom orders! the estimated time for creation and shipment will vary with these. please get in touch to arrange a custom order. and please, if it's for the holidays, book it well in advance so that we both have peace of mind. custom orders are paid in full prior to me starting the work.

if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. i'm generally pretty quick to respond, unless i'm travelling (in which case there will be a message to give you a heads up), and i will do everything in my power to clarify whatever you need.

all of my patterns can be downloaded from my ravelry store at any time. search "ash alberg" and they should pop up.
