This shade tent totally saved us this summer. I love it. It's open and breezy and not- plastic-y. And also creates a cozy little space to be on a bustle-y beach. I love that it's a cotton shade cloth, and really hope it lasts and doesn't break down!

We are so happy with our Suniela we bought 2 !
We travel with it, and use it at the beach every weekend...light, easy to prop up and dismantle, perfect shading and also practical that we can put our keys, phone etc in the net bags on the sides
Definitely recommend : )

Took this canopy for a test beach day this weekend and I couldn’t be more pleased. We stayed under all day and got we had no sunburn. It was easy to set up and break down. I used to have something similar when I was young and I’m so happy to find this! Perfect for our needs. Super well made also. Thank you!!! Ideal beach canopy!!

I bought this not just because I needed a stylish and functional beach shade, but because it is just a great design. It solves lots of problems by doing less. It is elegant, and with the unique patterns you can voice some personal expression on the beach. I think you may go through many beach shade options in life, but this one you will keep using season after season.

Wow - this sunshade is beautiful, lightweight and doesn’t block the ocean view of the people behind you (like most beach tents do). It’s a smart design, well made and the fabric is lovely. Our family loves it and can’t wait to take it traveling this summer🌅.

The sun shade is attractive however the material is lightweight and not waterproof. I regret not verifying that before purchasing. Living in the tropics, short-lasting showers are very common. The first time we took out the new sun shade we quickly learned it would not be up to keeping us or our things dry at the beach. Ultimately, it is a very expensive cotton sun shade I’ll only be taking out when there isn’t any chance of rain - so maybe a few times a year.

I'm sorry to hear you're not totally happy with your sunshade! They are 100% cotton, as advertised.. which is great for natural sun protection, and throwing in the washing machine when needed. We use ours in the tropics, and have withstood many quick sun showers, but no - they are not designed for rain. Especially with the open sided design, which helps for ventilation and wind resistance - even with a waterproof canopy, unless the rain is coming completely straight down - it would enter at an angle. Hope you will still get some good use out of your Suniela!
The Suniela sunshelter was invented by my Mom & her sister way back in 1995, on Canada's east coast. They were tired of lugging heavy parasols to the beach and chasing them with every gust of wind. I was lucky enough to grow up with one, spending long summer days on the beach throughout my teen years, running a small henna tattoo business from beneath my cabana. After years of people asking about my unique shade, Suniela Beach was born.
When you purchase from Suniela, you can be sure that each product has been made with quality materials from ethical producers, and will last for many years of outdoor fun!
