About the Artist

My name is Rachel Gunsch, and I am a North Carolina potter. During the pandemic I decided to pursue my passion for ceramics as a professional endeavor and have now owned my own business, SunRay Pottery for over a year. The primary focus of my work is functionality. Each piece is made with its specific purpose in mind. I have multiple styles of work that I oscillate between to help stimulate my creativity and passion for what I make. All of my work is fired in an electric kiln at a mid-range temperature and my glazes tend to be cheerful cool-tone colors. It is my hope that these pots will be put to regular use and bring joy to moments that are often overlooked.

    Owner, Maker

I create functional ceramics that are intended to reveal the beauty in everyday objects and moments. I hope my work will encourage those who use it to be present and aware of their experience with the piece.
