About

Making intricate wearable art...

I've been creating jewellery for over 10 years now. Etsy has been an incredible platform for not only selling my work both in the UK and internationally, it's put me in touch with so many incredible creative souls ~ it's amazing to be part of this inspiring community of such talented people!

I live in rural Northumberland, North England and work from home creating my art. I live here with my amazingly supportive fiancee, Ian, and our lovely cat Bootsy who is very much part of our little family. We've just moved into a bigger house surrounded by woods, it's completely detatched and we are quite literally in our element here.

Creating polymer clay jewellery was a completely new experiment which started as a therapeutic hobby, I soon discovered that I had a new talent, particularly in the process called 'millefiori'. I've always loved manipulating and sculpting and worked mainly with clay and sculpture in GCSE and A Level Art in which I gained top A* and A grades. I chose not to study or practice art after school and at around the age of 24 my subdued creativity began to burst out of me! I started intricately painting wooden beads and stringing them on different coloured ribbon and gifting them to friends, which then led to me starting to sell them. Experimenting with Fimo clay became a magical door that had suddenly opened. I began making almost every day as I was so fascinated by the process of caning. I would stay up long into the night to finish a cane I had been working on. It helped my creativity to flow once more, it healed me, and continues to nourish me every time I sit down to create.

I now run 3 little businesses which have grown from making that first little clay bead. It's been an incredible journey so far as most of you who follow my work and my life will know!

The Dread Bead Shop is my other shop here on Etsy. I used to sell dread beads in my jewellery shop but decided to create a separate shop in 2014 which has proved to be a wise decision with growing success! I've had dreads for 13 years now and can't imagine a life without them!

Wild Flower Trading, based on where we used to live, is the name of my stall which I take away to Festivals with me. Our last home was surrounded by wild flower meadows in the spring/summer time, it was so magical! Wild Flower Trading also the name of my third little venture, my fair trade gift shop I created in which to sell my handmade jewellery and dread beads at festivals and markets. I've always loved the idea of having my own shop since selling my work in other peoples shops and meeting so many inspiring people. My shop however is not a brick and mortar (yet) and fits well with my creative tendencies and lust for travel and freedom.
You can visit the website here ~ www.wildflowertrading.com

I was contacted by Vogue Magazine in 2012 and agreed to have some of my work and details about my business put in the back pages. I don't know if this really represents anything to do with the core of my creative venture although it was fun and a little over whelming at the time!

2018 was so busy! I travelled to India, traded at 7 festivals and moved house! I also traded 31 days straight at a Christmas Market.

You can follow my work on facebook and instagram by searching @supremilyjewellery

I'd love you to keep in touch!

Thank you for taking the time to read this if you've got this far ~ I hope you enjoy looking through my creations.
