I love this brooch! The picture inside of it is not morbid. I think it is delightful! The lady, mother, may be wearing mourning garb. The precious little girl looks to be wearing classic Civil War Era attire. She is also wearing black. Maybe they were in mourning over the loss of a husband/father. The picture is sad, but the child is an angel! The frame is beautiful!!! Thank you so much! Janet
