I tried to offer helpful suggestions as to how to remove odors in vintage items, and explained that vintage clothes may not be perfect as new ones.
Vintage Clothing Lover
Hi! I'm Susan, or Susie as my family calls me.
My mother was a designer dressmaker who worked at home, so I grew up reading Vogue magazines and pattern books. I started sewing and designing my own clothes in grade school. One of my first "businesses" was making troll doll clothes in 4th grade.
Home was the Chicago area. Spent about 15 years in Albuquerque NM to escape the snow. Now I live back in central Illinois in a big old foursquare farmhouse built in 1910.
My love of vintage clothing was sparked after visiting a Kentucky mansion where the tour guides dressed in Civil War costumes. It was further fueled watching old movies on TV. My informal education was gained over the years at the library taking out all of the costume books. Now I love the hunt to find vintage clothes and market them here on Etsy.

Refunds and Exchanges
I take great care to describe each item fully and accurately. Most items I sell are vintage so some wear is natural. A loose seam pales in comparison to the rareness of an item that I think is interesting. I am unable to accept returns unless an item is grossly misrepresented. I do not issue refunds for wrong size, color, wrinkles or buyers remorse. Remember vintage clothing size differs from modern sizes. Please read descriptions and measurements carefully and ask all questions before you buy.
* Please note: Original shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. A restocking fee will be assessed on orders that are refused by the customer at the time of delivery or returned due to an "un-deliverable" address.
Additional policies and FAQs
Vintage clothing and sizing is different modern clothing, which is cut loosely to fit a wide variety of body shapes. Vintage clothing is cut much closer to the body than you may be used to. For this reason, it is important that you allow enough wearing ease to move comfortably while wearing your vintage garment.
Vintage garments were often tailored to fit an individual woman and evidence of seams and darts being taken in or out is not uncommon. For this reason, it is often possible to have a vintage garment altered to fit you if your measurements are off by just a bit.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Vintage clothing has had a prior life and, like most of us, is neither perfect nor pristine. Small flaws, creases, scuffs, fading, picks, moth nibbles, and other evidence of wear are to be expected. That history is what gives the character to vintage items! Even unworn items have been stored “somewhere” for at least the past 20 years and may have signs of that.
Listed measurements are the actual garment size, not body measurement. For best results measure a garment that fits you well and compare to the measurements given. Remember you must leave "wiggle" room for proper fit. Use a tape measure for best results.
Bust is taken at the underarm seam from side to side and doubled. Waist is at the natural waistline or seam line from side to side and doubled. Hip is approximately 6" down from the waist from side seam to side seam. Length is taken from the shoulder seam down to the hem. Shoulder to shoulder is measured across the back where the sleeve is sewn in and not doubled. All measurements are taken with the garment lying flat. It is advisable to find a similar garment in your wardrobe and measure it lying flat for comparison.
NOTE: My mannequin is 5 feet 8" tall with measurements of 34-24-36, so larger sized clothing is clipped back to show the style better.
