I absolutely love this tryptic! It's for my best friend who collects chicken art and has recently only purchased original works. Thank you so much for the fast shipping as well!
Just Lovely, and will look perfect with the Party Chicks. You are so creative and talented, and I look forward to seeing what you'll make next. Thank you for the Party Chick with the cupcake. Not only is she adorable, but she is perfect to join the others for the Party (lol)!
An Absolutely Fabulous and feathered collage! This is just perfect, and I couldn't be happier. I know I'll be back for more. Thank you SO much!!!
Keep Calm and Make Art
I started my shop as a way to push myself to show (and sell) my art. It was very difficult for me at first as art can be so personal. I was sure no one would like my pieces. Finally, with the help of a friend who is a life coach we worked through some of my concerns with putting myself out there. When I posted my first piece in Suzianna Art, it was a huge step. Next came craft shows where I had to be face to face with potential customers. That was difficult as well, but again, another friend helped by coming to the shows as my number one (and only) sales person. She helped me learn how to describe my work and explain my processes.
I've since moved away from both of those friends but I think of the often when I'm working a show or posting work to Etsy. They have helped me in so many ways.
Now I have a beautiful new studio space and have the opportunity to work on my art nearly full time. My day starts with some form of exercise, then coffee. Next comes focusing on my shop, photographing and posting new works, checking emails and basic business work. Then the fun begins. I put on music and jump back into my latest project or technique, or start something completely new.
I have a terrible need to try every technique I see so I often have several very different projects on the go. Recently that was: an altered book about our move to South Carolina, a mosaic house number for a neighbor, a painting layered with paper and fabric and some fun collage plaques. Thank goodness for my awesome studio.
I continue to learn from friends, fellow artist, classes and online videos. I hope that curiosity never stops.
Around the web
I love art of all kinds but have been into mixed media and collage for the past few years. My favorite materials are paper, paint and ink, but I try to use something new and unexpected in my work. I am messy and often wear a lab coat when I work.
I’ve been dabbling in many different art forms ever since I can remember, from carving, bead making, floor cloths, jewelry making, painting and all manner of arts and crafts. I am also a pack rat and have a weakness for all sorts of bits and bobs. You know how it goes; “I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, but I’m sure something will come to me.”
I realized I could put the two passions or obsessions together in assemblage and collage art and recycle at the same time.
All my pieces are signed originals, so each is unique. If there is a specific bird type you would like we can negotiate a custom piece.
