This is the cutest Raggedy Anne I've ever seen, just a precious little doll, thank you Suzie!!
You are never too old to play with DOLLS !
Do you believe that every doll has a personality? I do! I love making my dolls - they have a sense of humour and make me smile...and I know they make my customers smile, too!
My dolls are original design, handmade and hand painted whimsical cloth dolls. These include angels, Raggedy Annes, black dolls and a range of animals, including cats, rabbits, dogs, bears, owls and monkeys! I also offer lovely prints of my original paintings and appealing wooden angels. Some of my custom dolls, especially the dogs, have been a comfort to some buyers who have lost a pet.
I started my creative journey as a trained decorative artist in 1991. I learned my craft from several well respected and leading decorative artists at seminars in the UK, Canada, California, Bermuda, and at the Decorative Artists Convention. I began designing and making my dolls in year 2000, as a self taught doll maker.
Every doll in my shop has been created with much love and care. I love making totally unique dolls and put a lot of effort into making each one special. The dolls are mostly made of muslin and other materials, such as antique and precious vintage fabrics, and some exquisite European laces and silks, patiently waiting to be used! I enjoy using hand dyed silk ribbons and vintage flowers to embellish the dress or hair. I also use repurposed fabrics, wool, feathers, antique buttons, beads, clay, and paper mache. I scour antique stores, thrift stores and other specialty stores throughout the world for different and unique items to use!
I design all of my dolls. Initially, I make a pattern, transfer it to muslin, cut it and sew it. After the doll is sewn, I paint the faces so that I can feel its personality, how it should be dressed and what type of hair it needs (I have a variety of fibres to use for hair including Tibetan , alpaca , sheep's ,Angora and mohair wool as well as burlap , silk and feathers. Almost every doll has wired arms so that the buyer can pose them - this is a must if you collect dolls, because most of us like to 'play' with them! Ha!
I love to do custom orders and can replicate a particular doll well. I may not have the same material but I have lots to choose from! If you have a special request, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
So...which doll is YOUR favourite? Thank you for visiting!
