About

About Myself

I am a recent Bachelor of Design, Fashion and Technology graduate living in the beautiful city of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. The name oblahk comes from the Slovak work "oblak", which means cloud. It represents Vancouver (also known as Raincouver) as well as my Slovak heritage.

I make useful beauty accessories that are meant to be comforting and encourage girls and women to take care of and love themselves. It is still common to find attitudes and images that provoke bad body image for girls and women and I hope to be part of the change for a healthy fashion industry with meaningful values.

I have designed each product with thoughtful fabric choices and construction techniques. Each piece was designed by myself for my own beauty routine needs and the accessories are still made from scratch by me. I am very interested in sustainability and reducing waste and am trying to implement that into my shop more every day. I use a zero waste cutting technique that allows me to use as much of a piece of fabric as possible, and I find other uses for any tiny scraps left over.

The satisfaction of my customers is very important to me and I do the best that I can to fulfill my customers' needs. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. I also do custom orders.

I grew up wanting to be a fashion designer and have just completed my Bachelor of Design, Fashion & Technology. I am passionate about sustainability in fashion and used zero waste pattern cutting for my thesis collection.

Shipping is $3-$10 depending on the item and where it needs to be shipped. Each item is wrapped and sealed well to avoid any damage for a smooth delivery. I ship to any country, by air mail.

I usually ship within two days after you make a purchase and each package arrives to its destination in a reasonable time. For North America, it takes 3-14 days for a package to arrive, and international orders it can take 2-4 weeks. If your package takes longer than this, please contact your country's postal service about why it may be taking a long time.

Buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred. Duties and customs depend on and vary in different countries. However, the products that I sell very rarely require these extra fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
Orders are neither refundable nor exchangeable. Please compare the measurements of the item to the measurements of your body before purchasing. If you have any questions, please do shoot me a message and I do my best to avoid any misunderstandings.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, do send me a message and I will be more than glad to resolve the problem!
Additional policies and FAQs
Note that my handmade items are never totally identical. That's the beauty of handmade, each product is unique!

To care for your terry cloth Oblahk piece, make sure to wash it around once every two weeks because germs eventually build up and can cause breakouts. Every product is machine washable, but you may want to put it in a mesh bag before putting it in the wash, or hand wash in the sink to prevent snagging. To hand wash use warm water and a tiny bit of detergent. Rub the fabric together for a minute and let it sit in the sink for five more minutes. Then rinse, squeeze out the water and hang to dry.

If you have any questions before ordering or would like to request a custom order (which I am happy to do!) feel free to message me here on Etsy!
