Announcement   We are proud to be part of the sustainable fashion movement, which continues to gain ground as more people like you choose an alternative to fast fashion. The fashion industry produces billions of pounds of textile waste annually. But where others see waste, we see opportunity! We believe thoughtfully made clothing doesn’t have to compromise style. Working from end rolls discarded by larger labels, we produce small batch designs with the craftsmanship and original style that stand the test of time. Each piece is individually numbered so you can see how few exist in the world and love it even more! To learn more about us, our values and our efforts to promote slow fashion, please visit: www.sweetcycleapparel.com

No one wants to stop lookin' good just because their doin' good - so here's to leaving a lighter footprint, foxy!

Thanks for your support!

Lovely skirt, couldn't give it 5 stars because it arrived with a broken zipper (the pull part was missing). I can still do it up, though with a little difficulty. I will probably just end up replacing the zipper myself. That all said, it was a sale item, greatly reduced in price, so I understand that this comes with the territory. The fabric and stitching is perfect, I love the fit, and it was shipped in a very timely manner. Would shop here again.

About

Two friends passionate about sustainable fashion produce small batch apparel line

Christine and Annie met in Portland, OR before embarking on a 2 year international adventure. Throughout our travels, we met up several times and places. It was in Kenmare, Ireland where the seed of a business idea was planted which later became Sweet Cycle. While we were traveling we tired of our wardrobes quickly since we could only carry a few outfits with us. We got creative using scraps of fabric or garments that other travelers wanted to give away. We also had to repair what we had with us when something ripped or got damaged. A lot of times that would lead to a total transformation of the garment.

We both returned to the States in 2010, met back up in Portland, OR and developed our small clothing line drawing from Christine's love of the vintage and retro aesthetic and Annie's love of modern, unusual and playful designs. They knew they shared a passion for sustainable living and so formed Sweet Cycle around the idea that looking good and being fashion forward doesn't require a high social or environmental cost.

At first we created one-of-a-kind pieces from vintage patterns. Over time, we developed our own patterns from scratch and decided to streamline our efforts by buying bigger quantities of discarded fabric. Since we still have limited supplies of each fabric, our designs are limited edition, or what we like to call small batch. We like to number our pieces so people can see how few exist in the world!

    Owner, Designer

Christine has been sewing off and on most of her life. but it wasn't until traveling around Europe and India for a few years that she realized that working with discarded textiles and designing clothing from scratch was where her passion really was.

  • Annie

    Owner, Designer

Annie became interested in fashion when she moved to Portland after college. The street fashion and abundance of independent designers inspired her to learn everything she could about fashion design. She loves modern, playful and unusual designs.

Welcome to SweetCycle! Thanks for your interest in our apparel. If you don't find what you're looking for today, come back often- our selection is ever changing. All our products are hand-cut, hand-made, and small batch. We make our clothes with love and high attention to detail and care, however, you may notice slight imperfections depending on the age of the materials and the simple fact that everything is done by hand.

We really believe in using reclaimed, recycled and vintage fabric and reducing our global impact as much as possible. We put our heart and soul into our work and sincerely appreciate your support.

Here's to doing it ourselves!

Refunds and Exchanges
We appreciate that buying clothes online can be a bit of a gamble, and we want you to love your purchase as much as we do. However, we are closing our shop and will not be able to accept returns. We've priced our clearance items with this in mind.
