Greetings from Sylvia's Couture. Thank you for viewing the apparel. Hopefully you found what you were looking for - or even better - something completely unexpected. Clothing here may be composed of recycled garments, vintage fabrics and trims, whole cloth, new or recycled altered pieces. Almost everything I use is hand-dyed by me. I carefully inspect the fabrics themselves and the finished garments as well. Some imperfections are allowed to remain as part of the design. Sewing at Sylvia's Couture is meant to be the "glue" that holds the design together. It is not tailoring, but all pieces are carefully constructed and good sewing techniques are employed. Your garment should arrive with all embellishments firmly attached and all seams intact.

Returns and exchanges
Refunds and exchanges are a hassle for both parties. I try to do everything I can to describe and properly size a piece so you, the buyer, have a clear idea of what you are purchasing. Measurements are taken with the piece on a dressmakers form for better accuracy. Materials used in the item and the care of the item are clearly detailed. If you still have questions, feel free to convo me prior to your decision to purchase.

That being said, returns will be accepted for refund or credit, if: the garment is technically flawed, it absolutely doesn't fit you, or, you hate it on sight! These things happen.

You will receive a refund or credit if you: (1) Notify me within three (3) days of your receipt of the item your intent to return it; (2) Return it to me within ten (10) days of notifying me of your intent to return, and (3) the item returns to me in the condition you received it. The above are the return condition to be met if you are expecting a refund.
Payment
Sylvia's Couture accepts PayPal, personal check, money order. Payment for your item must be received within four (4) business days. If no payment is received, the item is subject to relisting.
Shipping
Items purchased and paid in full will be shipped either the day of purchase (if a business day) or the following business day. I use US postal system, 1st class or parcel post. Shipping costs include delivery confirmation and insurance. All purchases are attractively tissue wrapped for shipping. Gift wrapping (fancier tissue and ribbon) is no additional charge.
Additional policies and FAQs
Any item purchased will be shipped with care instructions. In almost every case it will read, Wash in cold water either by hand or on gentle cycle; tumble dry on lower heat setting, or line dry. DO NOT DRY CLEAN. These are durable clothes made to be worn over and over and loved to death. They are good quality knits meant last for years as are the colors they are dyed with. Your purchase will quickly become your favorite thing to wear! The more you wear it, the more you'll love it.
