Infusing the old and new with love, humor, irreverence, and LIFE!

Growing up in a big family with little money, I think, played a pivotal role in my "waste not, want not" approach to life. I have fond memories of making stuff out of reclaimed or ordinary items, putting my own spin on them. I love the Earth and all her people and the most important thing I can teach my children is to Love and Be Good, in whatever form that takes.

I love old things, especially "granny" stuff-- vintage linens, tatted lace, embroidery, and dishes (depression glass! fire king! milk glass! oh my!!!), as reflected in my vintage offerings. I buy/find/collect what I like, and suspect you'll like it too.

A nerd at heart, I have a deep love of books, languages, other cultures, and "old things". These easily came together as an obvious "Of course!!! Light switch plates covered in vintage dictionary pages!" a-ha moment. I was hooked. I began with English language dictionaries, quickly expanding into international versions as I came across them. And the rest is history!

I consider myself an artist, yet sometimes am caught off guard when people ask "what kind of art" I make--- "It depends on what I come across, what I find, and how I'm feeling!"

"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web." -- Pablo Picasso

Crafty since childhood, I love every part of the creative process. Salvage yards and secondhand stores make me giddy. I never have a plan while hunting, preferring to bring home whatever grabs me and incorporate it into something awesome.

Returns and exchanges
If for any reason you are unhappy or dissatisfied with ANY part of your business with me, by all means, LET ME KNOW!!! Legend has it I'm a fairly openminded and peaceful person. I'll do whatever I can to make it right.
Payment
Items will be shipped out within 2 days of receipt of payment, standard USPS shipping unless otherwise agreed upon. I use the usps media mail rate for books and magazines.
Shipping
All shipping costs include all shipping materials (a box if necessary, bubble wrap, padding, etc.)

Generally, if the item is not particularly fragile and will withstand normal typical postal handling, it will be sent first class to try and save you a little postage. If you prefer ups or usps priority shipping, no problem-- let me know and I'll determine the new shipping price quote. I often use recycled packaging materials, so let me know if this is a problem. I live in a smoke free home but do have a cat.
Additional policies and FAQs
I'm always open to suggestions, too. I am MORE than happy to do custom work for you-- don't hesitate to ask! I have lots of positive feedback on custom orders for many buyers here on Etsy.
Also, I will ship anywhere in the world, provided there isn't a customs restriction on the item. (Sometimes I work with plant material and/or seeds, and some countries-- Australia for example-- are pretty strict about letting those things in).

Additionally, please let me know if the item you've purchased is a gift for someone! I'd be more than happy to wrap it "instantly giftable". If you include a notation in the 'note to seller', I can ship it directly to the recipient.
