Announcement    Welcome! I call my abstract watercolor paintings "Charted Unterritories" because they resemble fantastical maps or aerial landscape views; the titles refer to mythological, fictional, and otherwise nonexistent places. See www.tahliaday.com for more information. If there's a painting on my website that says "prints available" but has no print listed here, I can list it for you -- just contact me!

About

In my "Charted Unterritories" pieces, I layer watercolor, ink, and other media over random watercolor grounds to bring out shapes I see, and they gradually begin to resemble fantastical maps or topographical forms. The titles refer to places that exist around and outside concrete reality, such as phantom islands created by mapmakers, ancient cities destroyed by cataclysms, and places from myths, legends, and fiction. Some pieces also have names invented by me.

In the "Colonization" sub-series, the images stain and "colonize" surfaces other than plain watercolor paper, such as old book pages, other maps, wallpaper, etc. -- little worlds growing and spreading in unlikely places.

-----

I create my original paintings in my home studio, then reproduce them as prints and cards using my own scanner, computer, and high-end Canon printer, and package and send them out to you myself. I prefer to have full control of the process, so everything is done by me personally.

Returns and exchange details
I will replace prints and cards damaged in shipping at no extra charge, if you can send me a picture of the damaged item. If an original painting is damaged (oh no!), please return it and I'll give you a full refund.

I will also accept returns for a refund or exchange (not including shipping) if you just decide something isn't the right fit for you, as long as the item is returned in its original condition within 30 days.
Shipping
Prints are shipped in rigid flat mailers with extra cardboard reinforcement to stay flat. Note card sets are shipped in bubble envelopes (to avoid waste and keep them out of landfills, I reuse ones that are still clean and usable). Unframed originals on paper will also ship in flat mailers; framed originals and originals on canvas/panel are wrapped and boxed.

I ship via USPS and insure shipments that include originals or are over $100 in value.

International buyers are responsible for taxes, fees, duties, etc. that might occur upon arrival.

Everything comes from a non-smoking household. I have two cats, but I try to make sure no fur hitches a ride in the packages.
