I began dyeing in the fall of 2011. Occasional experiments grew into an obsession with playing with color on yarn. Over the years, I've learned more and refined my techniques as I've moved from experimental, one-of-a-kind colorways, to developing repeatable colors. I'm still in the process of finding the right balance between art and science in my dyeing!

When I was younger I was never a very good artist when it came to drawing and painting, but I wished that I could translate the picture in my head onto a canvas. Through dyeing yarn, I've found a way to become a painter where I can succeed like I never could before.

I've always visualized the things I was reading vividly, so drawing inspiration from my favorite stories seemed like a natural choice to make. I also tend to watch my favorite movies and tv shows over and over, nearly ad nauseam, so drawing inspiration from those comes quite naturally.
