A quirky, sarcastic sense of humor doesn't solve anything, but it sure does make it seem better. I've been drawing my entire life; and after working a 9-5 corporate job for many years I discovered mixing art with sarcasm can be extremely therapeutic. It was during that 9-5 job that I started taleas (I pronounce it tally-us...but I'm from Texas, what do I know?)
Taleas began as a few sketches drawn on notepads, scanned into my computer and emailed to my friends at work and eventually grew into a website complete with Facebook fan page and everything! This Etsy store is part of a natural evolution from paper to digital and back to paper.
Instead of aiming for the "best product-market fit" and "optimizing conversion rates using industry best-practices" I create based off of life experiences. Instead of beautifully drawn birthday cards you'll find talk-like-a-pirate day cards; there is a 3 foot tall poster of endless cubicles because I literally used to work in an 80,000 square-foot open-floor building with rows and rows and rows of pale-blue cubicles.
