Announcement   I am the designer & producer of Purses, Handbags, Knitting and Tote Bags, Yoga Bags, Wristlets, Makeup Bags, Knitting Project Bags, Toiletry Box Pouches, Makeup Brush Rolls, Knitting & Crochet Needle Cases, Glasses Cases, Card Cases & Key Fob (using ONLY high quality woven ribbon).

With me, it's the fun of finding fabrics that coordinate, then finding the little accent pieces, from the coordinated linings to the ribbons from which hang the trigger snaps & d-rings, to the accent buttons & beads on the exterior of the bags or needle cases. I have bags for sale, but I love to do custom orders.

I want my clients to feel each bag is custom, so I only tend to purchase fabrics in 1 yard pieces, once a fabric is finished, I try not to repurchase it again, after all you really don't want to see a duplicate of your bag walking down the street ahead of you. It's creativity run amuck.

About

From London to the US, starting afresh

I was originally born in London and emigrated to the United States with my husband in 1995. After packing up our new puppy, (we had only had her a week), and few meager sewing supplies, some fabric and of course the sewing machine, we made the plane ride to a country that previously, I had only visited.

Talfourd Jones was founded as a business sewing and designing clothes for myself. Over time, the client base grew as business associates and friends saw what I was wearing and wanted clothing made for them. Some of my designs have been worn to functions at the White House and I specialize in both formal and casual wear.

The Talfourd Jones Collection began when I was looking to purchase a knitting bag, but none of the bags were exactly what I was looking for, and from there it snowballed into making handbags & accessories.

The fun of the Talfourd Jones Collection, is the journey of putting fabrics, designs & colours together, primarily using home decorating fabrics, upholstery fabrics and quilting fabrics for the linings. The findings are of excellent quality purchased in NY & CA and the fabrics are generally limited editions so our clients receive new and exciting fabrics on each item. Significant effort is put into choosing the correct fabrics to coordinate with the correct lining, the style and material in the handles (custom beaded or fabric), to the colour of the bags' findings, nickel or brass, to which exterior button & bead will work perfectly for that specific bag & that particular fabric colour story. All the sewing and designing is done in house, by me, with bags taking between 5 to 15 hours depending on the style and the accessories taking between 1-2 hours. I only purchase 1 yard pieces of fabric, so when they are finished I try not to purchase them again, this gives you, the customer, the feeling that what you are purchasing a OOAK piece.

The bags are named after women who have made an impact in my life, ranging from my mother, my stepmother & my mother-in-law, to my sister & step sister, to my grandmother, to my best friends and finally to my dog.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at the Talfourd Jones Collection.

Frequently asked questions

When will my order ship?

I offer a selection of 'ready made' items as well as 'custom' items. Each listing displays a 'ready to ship' time frame, which is the time I need to either make or process your order. Ready made items ship in 1-2 business days. With regards to 'custom' orders, I normally give a timeframe of 4-6 weeks, depending on the item and the time of the year. If you need your item sooner, please don't hesitate to contact me and I will be glad to see if I can accommodate your timeframe.

Why did my item arrive in a pre-used shipping box?

I try to recycle all my shipping boxes, so please don't be alarmed if your item arrives in a box marked with another companies name on it

The item I am purchasing is a gift, can you ship to a different address, gift wrap and include a gift tag?

Yes, of course, I love to do stuff like this! Please mention in the 'note to seller' during checkout that the item is a gift, and let me know what you want your message to say. Be sure to also enter and select the gift recipient’s address as the 'ship to' address. I’ll wrap the order in tissue paper, remove all price information and add a postcard with your message.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes, I welcome international orders! Please be aware of the following points when ordering:
• Any customs duties/taxes imposed by your country on imported goods are not shipping related charges, and are the responsibility of the buyer to pay.
• For information regarding customs fees/taxes, here is helpful link where you can estimate possible import taxes:
http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation
• To be in compliance with US laws, the customs form will reflect the price you paid and will be marked as “merchandise”.
• If your package is returned as unclaimed, I will refund the original purchase price, less original shipping charges, when I receive the returned item(s) in its original condition.

I received my item and it's damaged, what should I do?

If your order is damaged in transit or you notice a defect, I’ll repair, replace or refund your order. You’ll just need to follow these steps first: 1) Contact me within 7 days of receiving a damaged or defective item(s), and 2) take pictures of the damaged packaging and damaged/defective item(s), send the pictures to me, and retain all original packaging. I'll be glad to repair, exchange or replace (if same materials are available) or refund original price, including shipping, if you cooperate with providing me with proof of damage/defect within 7 days of delivery. In the case of a repair, I will refund your return shipping once I receive the item

Do you make custom items?

Yes! I love having requests for custom orders and would enjoy creating something special just for you! Please note the following regarding custom orders:
• Payment for custom orders is required in advance of work starting on your order.
• Once we've confirmed all your requirements, I will create a custom listing for you
• Once you have purchased the listing, I will then purchase any needed materials and begin work.
• And, I may love your custom order item so much that I want to remake it for sale again (excluding the bags), so, don't be surprised if your custom item becomes a stock item in my shop :o)
