About

Beads Make the World Go 'Round

I started making glass beads in the corner of my laundry room on a hot head torch in 2001. After a year of playing around on my own, I took a 5 day class with Sage and Tom Holland. That was the first time I saw anyone else even make a bead. I came home with a vast knowledge of how beads are made and designed and my first Minor torch.
At that point in time, you just didn't find help and information anywhere online to guide you through trials and errors. That class was a huge step for me and I haven't looked back since. At first I just sold a little bit here and there in eBay and then started taking spacer orders. While trying to keep things organized, I decided to start a color chart of all the available glass colors. (You can find that by searching 'serena color gallery' on the web.) I knew it would be helpful to my customers and to lampworkers too.
Now, the beads support the whole family. When you buy from me, you are aiding and abetting in the endeavors of the entire Thomas family. We are an intimate trio working to bring you high quality lampwork beads for your versatile creations.
