Information on Hanah Silk Ribbons:
If you are going to sew the Hanah silk ribbon on washable clothing, this is what I would do:
First, fill a bowl up with cold water and 3/4 cup white vinegar. Immerse the ribbon, the vinegar sets the color. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. If you still see running, repeat.
Then you can rinse it, if you want to wash it, use a very gentle detergent like Original Blue Dawn which is pH neutral. You can rinse, and even add a little Snuggle to it.
Hang to dry, iron.

If you are planning a wedding, let me know if you need large quantities of ribbons. Also, please visit a new site, weddingsource.etsy.com for a 30% discount on products. Use Etsy Coupon Code: save30

Thank you so much for stepping into my lair!

About

A Collage of Textiles and Techniques

The collection began a century ago, traveling to the United States from Alexandria, Egypt, and Harpoot, Turkey. I am of Armenian and both sides of my family were involved in weaving silk brocades.

As a young girl, I loved the delicate laces my grandmother crocheted, the silk dresses she made for my proms and dances. My grandmother taught me about the qualities of fabric. When I studied weaving, dyeing, and design, it was in my DNA and came naturally.

The Tangled Lair is my collection of ribbons, fabrics, buttons, and tools that I have believe to be the highest quality around.
Grosgrain, satin, taffeta ribbons come from my family's mill in Greene, NY. Hand painted silks are from Hanah on the west coast. I am a dealer of Schacht spinning and weaving products made in Colorado.

I am a weaver, spinner, dyer and designer of clothing and fashion accessories. I love beautiful fabrics and trims, often incorporating disparate items into my work. I enjoy working on flat pieces of fabric that become scarves and wraps.
