Tango clothes made by tango dancers

Tangoleva was born in April of 1998, after Anne returned from her second trip to Buenos Aires. She had experienced the true "socialness" of Argentine tango as a social dance and discovered the need for clothing that one could wear out on the street as well as dancing tango. Before going to a milonga, which didn't start until after midnight, she would invariably go out to dinner, the theater or a concert with her husband and his family and feel foolish wearing a skirt with a slit up to her hip. After this first trip, she started making adjustments to her wardrobe and began designing outfits that would accommodate all functions, cultural and milongas. Inspired by the wide variety of fashion that the Argentine women wore in the milongas, everything from jeans to glitzy dresses, she launched the first Tangoleva collection at the Santa Fe Tango Retreat in June of 1999. The fashion show, the sales, the feedback was a resounding success. It was a hit. "So this is what I do now", she says, happily.

Today we have a team of 3 in our studio and 4 taking care of business out & about.
Anne, Natalie and Kelley all sew, work with customers, ship and market. Ellen and Carmela represent at the tango festivals. Ann sews in her home studio and Rachel models.
We cut and sew every garment one at a time. It's not custom, but it's not mass produced, either. Everything is dance-tested by all of us. Anne has made a set of patterns that are sized consistently, so once you know your size there's no more guesswork. We love customer service and feedback. Tell us what you think!

All of our items have been dance-tested and are made of quality, primarily stretch, easy-care fabrics.

Small batch production. Every piece is cut and sewn one at a time.
Our items are consistently sized, so when you find the size that fits, that will be your size every time. Please take a look at the size chart.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
If you are not completely satisfied with your Tangoleva purchase, please return item(s) within 7 days of the receipt date for an exchange or full refund less shipping charges. Returns must be delivered to us within 7 days of the date you received the item(s). [Ex: If you received your order on the 1st of the month, it would need to be delivered back on our end by the 7th.]
Returns delivered after 7 days and up to 30 days will be issued a store credit for the value of the merchandise. We cannot accept returns made more than 30 days after the original order date. Store credits expire after one year.

Place item(s) in a secure package, making sure it has a tracking or delivery confirmation number. You are responsible for the return shipping fee. Merchandise must not be visibly worn, washed or damaged. A refund for the value of the merchandise will be processed when returned items are received.

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and Etsy Gift Cards.
Shipping costs will vary depending on the weight of the garments you purchase, and depending on how far the package has to be shipped.
US customers have the option to choose between First Class Package (2-5 days), Priority mail (2-3 days) and Fed Ex 2-day or Overnight. Please contact us for an exact shipping quote for 2-day or overnight
International customers can choose between International First Class Package (10 days), International Priority Mail (6-10 days) or Federal Express (2-4 days).

Most orders will ship the same day or the day after being placed. You'll get an email from Etsy when your package ships with a tracking number.


• Standard delivery: is by USPS First Class Package or USPS Priority Mail and is very good about arriving
within 2-5 days depending on which state your package is going to.

• 2nd day delivery: we use Federal Express. Your order will arrive the second day
after the order is shipped. Please contact us for an exact shipping quote.

• Overnight delivery: we use Federal Express. Your order will arrive the next
business day after the order is shipped. Please contact us for an exact shipping quote.
For shipments sent out on a Friday, normal overnight delivery is on Monday.
Saturday delivery is available in some areas for an extra charge - please contact
us regarding this service.


• Standard Delivery: is by First Class International Package or USPS Priority Mail International and will arrive in approximately 6-10 days. The shipping costs are dependent on the weight of the package and the country of delivery. Packages may be subject to customs taxes/duties and will be paid by the customer.
• Expedited Delivery: is available with Fed Ex - please contact us regarding this service.

** Sometimes packages are not delivered to the destination address and are left at the Main Postal Office to be picked up by customers, either for verification of delivery, security regulations or to pay customs taxes/duties.

** If more than 2 weeks has passed since placing an order that has yet to arrive, please check with your local Main Post office as it is possible your package is waiting to be picked up.
