Announcement   If you like art that swims in bright exuberant colours, hand drawn detail and unctious texture then you might just like what I do! Coming up... Original drawings, paper quilt designs, along with a new line of greeting cards, mini prints & a fun pdf project for summer.

Psssst!... I'm mad busy building an art portfolio website so apologies for the total lack of goodies on display! Have a look at my feedback and you'll see some examples of recent work. I'll be here if you need me > tanyamcclelland [!at] btinternet.com ;)

About

uplifting. original. affordable. Art ;)*

Hello there! I'm Tanya. Thanks for dropping in!

Originally from County Down in Northern Ireland, I now live in the lovely city of York in England. When I'm not running around having adventures with my little man Charlie, you'll find me up in my teeny studio (also known as the nest) drawing, sewing, painting, making prints. I'm also a collector of vintage objects from the 60's and 70's so I'm often out rummaging through the local thrift shops and car boots looking for retro treasure! Many of the floral designs found in vintage fabrics inspire my work, I love the brave use of colour and experimental forms.

Making art is such a vital role in my life, it helps me unwind and keeps my head and heart in check. I'm always looking out for interesting new techniques and materials. I'm often making exciting discoveries, such as gelatin monoprinting, and i get such an almighty kick from just creating art. It is my unabashed joy.

Speaking of joy, I happen to create 'uplifting' art - its really not intentional but being a happy go lucky person seems to infiltrate and show itself in what i do! yes it sounds corny i know! Perhaps a little strange and maybe a little bit lovely too.

I hope you like what i do and if you'd like any more info just holler! I love working on commissions so if you have a wall in dire need of cheering up do get in touch! Trade requests are always welcome too ;)

Best Wishes,
Tanya ♥
