Truly Natural products; created by and for the simple life

Our shop was born out of a love of all things natural.
As a mother, I was shocked to find that the seemingly harmless items in our home were exposing my family to tons of deadly toxins. From the candles we used to "freshen" the rooms, the soap we thought was cleaning us, right down to the ointment to heal the diaper rash which always seemed to come right back. It was time for a change.
I thought I was doing everything right; feeding them home-cooked "beyond organic" food we raised ourselves, making most of their clothes. But for some reason, my oldest daughter was walking around with a constant cough. When I finally broke down, and took her to the doctor, they said it was allergies - but allergies to what? "Could be tons of things", they told me. We started removing suspects - foods, dyes, anything artificial; but the cough would not go away. Then one day the mystery was solved by Hannah herself. Wanting to be just like Mommy, she sprayed herself with Mommy's perfume. Instantly the coughing began. It was the perfume! We threw out all air fresheners, candles, carpet fresheners and every other scented product - and no more perfume - she got a little better.
I started researching on the internet, and was shocked to find out everything that had these fragrances. The shampoos and conditioners, the soaps, lotions, and even the diaper rash cream. I wanted to buy the best soaps for her with no chemicals, but I never saw FRAGRANCE as a chemical. The local Farmers Market had "All Natural Soap" - perfect - I thought, until I saw the last ingredient....Fragrance. What was this ingredient - Fragrance? After many more hours of research, I discovered that most Fragrance products were based off of petroleum distillates - those cancer-causing chemicals that I had been trying to avoid.
So I began to learn how to make my own unscented soap, shampoos and lotions. Hannah's constant cough went completely away. Another amazing effect was, the rash I'd had on my hands for the last TWO YEARS went away. It appeared I too was allergic to fragrance. When Liberty was born, I started using strictly cloth diapers, but all the diaper rash ointments couldn't be used with cloth diapers. Besides, they had tons of unpronounceable items. I couldn't put that on my baby's largest organ (her skin) . That is how my Fix-It Cream came about. Matt gave some away to a few people, and then people started to request that I sell them a jar.
So began our endeavor in the natural product market. If I wouldn't use it in my house, then I am not going to sell it to you. I don't use fragrance, because many are carcinogenic. I couldn't sleep knowing I had purposely exposed anyone to a cancer-causing chemical. I discovered that many of the natural things that God created already have a wonderful smell, so I rely on these items. I also think, that after using soap you should smell clean - not like artificial flowers and dirt :-) .
Please enjoy all our Personal Care Products, knowing they were made with your well-being in mind, not a profit margin - and Thank You for stopping by.

I am a mother to seven children, I discovered soap making when one of my children turned out to be highly allergic to chemical fragrances. Not only are my soaps fragrance free, but they are also made and stored in a fragrance free home. I don't put anything on my skin that I would not be willing to eat. You will see this reflected in the ingredients that I choose for my soaps and salves - no strange dyes or unpronounceable ingredients here. I hate to see anything go to waste, so all my packaging is reusable.
I also love to sew, and especially love making toys for the younger children to play with. I like our toys to reflect our life, so many of our toys are simple, but fun. There is no need for batteries with any of my toys because the children power them with their imagination.

Nothing lights someones face up more than knowing something was made just for them so I LOVE to do custom orders. As allergy sufferers we are more than happy to customize soaps to fit your needs, however I do ask that you purchase at least two bars of the soap for customization.
